America, The Thriving

We are just finishing up a month-long run across America, East Coast to West Coast and back and, contrary to the dire warnings of Democratic politicians and their lap puppy sycophants in the media, who claim we are on the brink of a recession, conversely, what I saw was America at work, busy retail outlets, highways full of eighteen-wheelers and railroads with frequent, long, loaded freight trains moving raw materials and transporting finished goods to markets where demand is high.

No, I make no claim to being an economist or to having any insight into the dealings of America’s corporations and future fiscal insanities of government, but I know what I saw first-hand and since two and two is still four, water still does not run uphill and if there’s smoke there’s a fire somewhere (cowboy logic) it appears to me that things are popping in the hinterlands.

We stopped in Midland, Texas to let our driver rest and despite the 112º weather the entire region resembled a beehive, oil wells pumping, new ones being drilled, new buildings going up all over the city, the suburbs and outlying areas, and improvised campgrounds everywhere where thousands of new workers without permanent housing park their campers and trailers.

And speaking of housing, there are more housing developments and single home and apartment construction projects going on than you can count.

Hazel and myself had a great chicken fried steak with all the trimmings at a blue-collar Texas eating establishment and during the course of our meal this guy that was about 6’ 5” and at least an ax handle across the shoulders came and sat down at a table across from us.

I said to my wife, Hazel, “I would like to see Bernie Sanders come out here and explain to him why he wants to close all of this down.’

The claims that a recession looms is - at least in my humble opinion - for the most part, politically motivated. The Democrats have tried every trick in the book to get rid of Donald Trump and have miserably failed and brought to light serious infractions of the law and, in the process, poised several sharp axes above quite a few heads on their own side of the aisle, the ramifications of which still remain to be seen.

And since that didn’t work they, with the help of their personal public relations arm - the mainstream media - are trying to scare off Trump voters by insinuating that they would be voting themselves into a recession, and some like Bill Maher are actively hoping for a recession, saying that even if it hurts people, it will be worth it to get rid of Trump.

With regards to a vote for Trump is a vote for recession - again, only my humble opinion - the opposite would be true.

Can you imagine what would happen to the stock market if someone is elected who has vowed to do away with the use of fossil fuel, provide free college, health care for all, reinstate all the restrictions on business, rejoin the international rush for “climate control” a movement that gags on a gnat and swallows a camel, ignoring the worst polluters while penalizing the cleaner nations, exponentially raise taxes and the myriad of giveaway programs that at least one candidate admits would cost sixteen trillion dollars.

Can you envision what would happen to commerce if just the petroleum industry was done away with?

And you could say the same for any major industry in America because it’s not just manufacturing or producing the product that provides jobs, there is an abundance of satellite businesses that are dependent on any large enterprise, and the removal of said enterprise can turn a thriving city into a ghost town in a matter of weeks. Apartment complexes and retail outlets from the mom and pop variety to the big lots and discount chain retailers find themselves without customers almost overnight.

I’ve seen this happen, I’ve seen the sad shells of vacant cities, storefronts boarded up, trash blowing around on empty streets after the major employer in the area has shut down or moved away.

The truth of the matter is that America is thriving and there are reasons for that.

A business-friendly atmosphere and the lifting of commerce crippling restrictions plus reasonable tax structures make for record low unemployment and situations like I saw in Midland, Texas, a town bursting at the seams with prosperity.

I would like to see a town hall meeting of the Democratic presidential candidates be held in a place like Midland and hear the candidates answer questions about the promises they are all making.

I would like to see it explained to these people how doing away with fossil fuel and all the other ridiculous proposals are going to pay back sixteen trillion dollars after America’s manufacturing and energy sectors have been put out of business.

I’ve heard it said that Einstein’s definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

I guess socialists just have hard heads.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops our police and the peace of Jerusalem.

God Bless America

Roll On
Amen, Amen & Amen Charlie I hope that the Trump train keeps on rolling for four more years.God Bless President Trump and all the USA, American socialists included. I'm not sure that they are hard headed, I believe that they lack any gray matter inside of their heads. I think that all the democrats who are hoping for a recession so that Trump losses should be run out of town on a rail. It's been a long time since we have had it so good in this country, in spite of the disastrous 8 years of Obama. And as long as Trump keeps on the straight and narrow path that he is leading us down and keeps deregulating things such as last weeks truck drivers hours and waivers on ethanol we will keep building steam. I know tariffs are painful in the short run, but without pain sometimes there can be no gain. I still remember Jimmy Carter's Russian Grain Embargo which was a disaster for many reasons, but Trump is a smart business man and knows the danger of China. Some days I wish I was a young man again when I see all the opportunities out there. Nuff said God Bless Plowboy

Charlie you being the Christian man that I know you are I find it hard to think Trump is a good President or a Christian the way he belittles all the people, that he never does anything wrong it's always every one else's fault he has made us the laughing stock of the world run off our allies loves all the dictators of the world and believes them over our own intelligence community and the traitor Mitch McConnell who won't let any Bill's be brought up to vote on but keep blaming the Democrats ,Trump is a liar and a conman he wants to be dictator for life and has said as much ,and yes I'm a Democrat but have voted both sides I love your music and have seen you 3times but I think you are off base on this one, still in Saigon

Con Man Toddler Trump
Yes - he has truly conned many people. If Obama had bragged about grabbing women's genitals, mocked a disabled reporter, insulted a gold star family, praised the dictator of North Korea, lied stating that he "did not know David Duke", and much more, I believe that Charlie would be stating these things make him unfit for president. Obama was criticized for agreeing to talk with Iran with no preconditions. Meanwhile the current president does all of that and praises dictators as long as they flatter him. He talks about borders and invasions from undocumented immigrants - yet his own businesses have knowingly hired these folks for years - as they provide him with cheap labor - that is if he pays them at all. His mode of action is to deny payment for services provided by various workers (citing bogus excuses) and bury the transaction with legal proceedings with fees that his opponents are unable to pay. His so-called charity has been shut down and is under investigation. His so-called university is a sham and was under investigation until he settled with a large payoff - something he vowed not to do. He still won't show us his taxes - and never will voluntarily - despite promises prior to the election. He is a crook and that is known throughout NYC by many who no longer do business with him. I suspect that if he grabbed Hazel's genitals - Charlie might shoot him. That is one use of guns I might support.

Recession? No Way!
Mr. Daniels, I see exactly the same things you see: signs of growth everywhere. The “mainstream media “ and the liberals hate President Trump so much, and they hope they can keep claiming Trump is causing a recession until they actually scare the people into recession. How? One way, creating the fear can cause folks to pull their IRA’s and 401k’s out of stocks, thus pushing stock prices down. And that can contribute to a recession. I’m just sick of the way the Dems and the media and “celebrities” constantly accuse President Trump of everything under the sun. Lord, please bless America, we will fall without You!

Saint Mike the democrat
600,000 Abortions a year in the USA what say you Saint Mike? I know how Charlie feels about abortion and to be honest we all know how he feels about pretty much everything in his life (thanks Charlie) Where do you stand St. Mike ? I know what President Trump thinks about abortion but I can only guess that you would call yourself pro-choice. Who wouldn't prefer pro-choice over, murder or baby killer, but it's not my place to judge, no it's your job St. Mike what is good and what is bad.

Who's The Con
Paul remember Obama insulted every law enforcement officer when in 2009 leading up to his beer summit about Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr Obama stated "I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that. But I think it's fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home, and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there's a long history in this country of African Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately." Obama lied about Benghazi, lied about Fast & Furious, both of them deadly to US government employees. Obama gave Iran the sweetest nuclear deal ever which Trump has canceled. Obama has never produced college records or a authentic birth certificate. And remember Obama would be grabbing a mans genitals not those belonging to a woman. How sick is that....nuff said God Bless Plowboy

Thanks for the covering fire Plowboy
Keep your head down Paul, I aim to hit you with some more truth. Bill Clinton was a disgrace in the office of the POTUS . I would need a 30 round mag to send all that truth down range. Since leaving office the Clintons have been, well let's just put two more mags in my range bag. Keep your head down Paul, we're sending a C-130 gunship with the truth about Obama. He was behind the spying on Trump from the start, the ring leader of the deep state. What he did was take the trust that we must have in our leaders and walked all over it. Thank God Hillary lost, because we would all be blind to the truth. One more thing Paul, firearms are not toys you don't joke around about guns you should remember that it may save your life someday. PS Charlie would never shot a man that was rolling on the floor with the wind knocked out of him,you see Hazel doesn't need a conceal carry permit for a well placed knee! Silly season
We are in silly season here. We can't have informed opinions if we are getting news from organizations like the national inquire. Obama is not the head of a deep state that spied on trump. Obama was born in the USA Obama did attend and graduate from college and law school in the USA (He was the editor of the law review). Obama is not homosexual (even though there is nothing wrong with that) Ironically - it is toddler trump that threatened his college and grad school not to publicize his grades with threat of a law suit (what else is new). I guess it should not be surprising that followers of con man trump do not know who or what to believe.

Competing with Big Oil
Charlie, what you said about what would happen if the petroleum industry (or any large enterprise) was done away with is generally true, but there are exceptions. And one very significant exception is to compete with this industry through the private sector. Such competition is an industry itself. A mass-transit bus filled with passengers uses less fuel per person than the same number of people in separate cars using the same fuel. Operating a privately owned mass-transit bus system without a government contract would provide jobs without spending any taxdollars. A satellite industry of manufacturing buses would also provide jobs. And since bus fare would need to be cheaper than driving, commuters would spend their money less on transportation and more on other things, supporting more satellite industries that provide jobs. -- Tru Cola

Hmm.
What would happen if Democrats/liberals were in charge? Oh, I don’t know, Charlie..you’re a good musician but that’s where your common sense begins and ends. If you want to see how your Republicans stack up against Democratic politicians on the economy, all you have to do is look at the proof in the pudding: the last 70 years of Democratic administrations have over twice the job score as the Republicans .. 19 of 20 of the worst ranking states (by GDP, average income, education, health, poverty) are RED Republican , while the top ranking are blue states. Don’t quit your day job, Charlie.
