Charlie Daniels' Manifesto

*NOTE* Charlie will be back with a brand new soapbox on Monday, in the meantime, here's a soapbox rewind from 2007. - TeamCDB

As time goes by we pick up new readers of this column and for that, I am very grateful.

For you who have been with us for a while, I think you know how I stand on most issues concerning morality, politics and the good of the country. For those new readers, let me once again declare myself to give you a premise on my core convictions and beliefs so you’ll understand how my opinions are formed.

I believe that the universe and everything in it was created, not evolved, by an Almighty, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent God.

I believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. I believe that He walked this earth for thirty plus years performing fantastic miracles including raising the dead.

I believe He was nailed to a cross and that the blood that He shed was for the remission of sin that He was laid in a grave and rose on the third day and now sits at the right hand of The Father interceding for those who believe in Him and that one day sooner than later He will be coming back to earth to claim His rightful place as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I believe that the salvation of Jesus Christ is available to all and that He is the way the truth and the life, the only path to God.

I believe the Bible literally, the Old Testament and the New Testament, when it says the whale swallowed Jonah I believe he actually ingested Jonah and regurgitated him.

I believe that true marriage exists only between a human man and woman.

I believe that abortion is murder except in cases that severely threaten the life of the mother. Abortion done for sexual convenience is homicide.

I believe that the United States of America has been blessed above all the nations on the face of the earth and that if we continue down the path of political correctness, appeasement and apostasy we are in dire danger of losing our freedom and our quality of life.

I believe that the United Nations was a great idea that just didn’t work out and has turned into an American-hating, debating society and I think America would be better served if the United Nations building in New York were turned into a hospice for the homeless.

I believe that much of national politics has degenerated into a dirty game played by power brokers on both sides of the aisle who do not necessarily have the best interests of America at heart.

I believe that our immigration problems are a pandemic and that future generations of Americans will be paying for the gutless reticence of our politicians to deal with it.

I believe there are powers in Washington who have no interest in solving the welfare morass in this nation as long as it translates into votes for their party.

I believe that some of our top congressional people do not understand the determination nor the nature of the terrorist enemies we are dealing with and that left to their own devices, in their politically correct naivety, will expose this country to irreparable damage.

I believe to own and bear arms is a right guaranteed by our federal papers and that even if every legal gun in the world were confiscated, it would only serve to strengthen the hand of the criminals who would be the only one with guns and they would use them to wreak havoc on a defenseless population.

I believe that the way out of poverty is education and hard work and that it’s harder for some people than others but with the right attitude and a lot of sweat equity almost anybody can make something out of themselves in America.

I believe that women are equal to men in the workplace as far as less physical jobs are concerned and deserve equal pay, promotion and responsibility.

I believe that a secular political agenda that could never pass either House of Congress is being sneaked through the back door by an ultraliberal judiciary.

I don’t believe in globalism. I believe in the sovereignty of nations. And don’t believe America should have to succumb to the whims of the rest of the world, nor they to our whims.

I believe in the death penalty when it is appropriate. The death penalty is not meant for a deterrent but a punishment. It is meant to remove one danger to society and it works every time.

I believe school vouchers would serve a multitude of good purposes. It would allow parents to choose the religious and academic programs they would want their children exposed to, take away the sectarian offenses to the handful of atheists, and lastly, but not leastly, take away the corrupting power of the teacher’s union.

I believe that the government wastes our money and that it is best left in the hands of citizens in the form of lower taxes to be invested, saved or released into the economy.

I believe that police officers should be paid for the dangerous job they do and that they deserve the respect of the people they defend and serve.

I believe in Freedom of the Press but I also believe in the responsibility of the press and that it is being grossly abused by some of the largest publications in the country.

I believe in strong defense and that our first line of defense, those men and women in uniform should be given the weapons and technology it takes to defend this nation and that they should be paid in accordance to the dangerous job they do.

I believe that the work ethic in America has been severely damaged by the reckless welfare programs which encourage people to seek social programs rather than jobs.

I believe in competition and that children should be taught from an early age that this is not a one size fits all world and to succeed you have to give a day’s work for a day’s pay.

I believe in prayer and sincerely hope that all praying Americans will join me in a prayer for the soul of our beloved United States of America.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops, our police and the peace of Jerusalem.

God Bless America.

Not Enough Change
Amen, Amen & Amen Charlie we are kindred spirits in these beliefs, me being even more conservative on some of them. You could have not been any more right on the immigration problem. Also on children competition is a good thing for in life there will be winners and there will be losers. All that I can add is God Bless Trump. Pence and Mattis in the creation of the US Space Force, that's how it's done son. God Bless Plowboy

Living in the Age of. Trump
Evolution is a fact. A fact does not bend to beliefs. The FBI is a police force. Why not respect them? When a president lies so frequently, is it right to attack the press for pointing out the truth? Instead of globalists, let us talk about isolationists who try to pretend the rest of the world does not exist. And with all that goes freedom of religion which has seriously eroded in 2 short years. But most of all, instead of talking about beliefs, let us talk about the truth.

Amen CD, too bad we ain't taught better as children. You see what the world has turned in to when men serve only themselves and try to abandon God even though he will never abandon us. We certainly live in Biblical times. It ain't over yet. The worst and the best is yet to come in my life so it will be with the world. Thanks for your deep insightful faithful words. I too believe in Jesus Christ he's been with me all my life in good times and bad. Faith is a powerful thing. It's all I need.

MAGA
I agree with you and believe in the same things you do. Because of Obamacare in 2013 I wasn't told that doesn't I had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Then Dr.'s were paid 22% more to not treat patients who were already disabled. In 2017 I was given a cost of living increase for the first time since I don't know when that was more than $1:50 a month. I worked and paid my taxes for Social Security so it would be there for me if I needed it. Not to be given to drug addicts, Illegal immigrants or for people who just don't want to work. The ppeople in the senate and congress feel that someone else deserves what I worked for. Today I am laying in my bed in so much pain that my husband has to help me get up. All because I can't afford to go to the E.R. or be in the Hospital. I have nothing but my belief in God and my voice left to stand up for the United States of America. We have to stand together as Americans and not let people tell us how to think or what to say. People who come here don't get to be offend by our flag or our way of life.

That is the way I was raised and how my wife and I have raised our daughters. The U.S.A. has left the beliefs and morals that has made is the best nation in the world. Thanks for being a role model for me in your music and beliefs while I was growing up. Keep it up

JUST LIKE THE GOOD OL' DAYS
I am new to these writings. I feel very blessed to have found them. At one point I stopped and looked around..because it sounded so much like MY husband..he was accused of giving the "best red, white and blue" speech when in reality all he was saying was what our family believes and how we live. Thank you Charlie and God Bless you and your wonderful family.

Adaptation NOT Evolution
The amazing body seems to be created to ADAPT... not to evolve from one species to the other. Evolution is just another way to degrade humans and our Creator. ( If evolution were even possible why do monkeys still exist ? ) Perhaps that idea is what makes some humans act and react the way they do. Everything was Created after its Kind. I have personally had some incredible Spiritual experiences and I can tell you for a fact that even you were Created after HIS LIKENESS. It will be a wonderful day when someday you discover this.

To Patricia
‘Why do monkeys still exist?’ Because monkeys and primates share a common ancestor. This is explained at length on the creationist website Answers in Genesis in the section covering arguments creationists should not use.

To Dana globalism denier
"Instead of globalists, let us talk about isolationists who try to pretend the rest of the world does not exist. " You are perfectly free to write your own manifesto and publish it on the web. I for one might even give it a gander. But then I tend to view gobalism as a threat the way foreign entanglements are considered dangerous. There are extremes to everything, I suppose. Though I see little to no moderation going on within the globalists agenda. In basic: commercial interests (or trade) and security protections between nations are two useful relations; whereas political entanglements (of globalism) can be detrimental to a sovereign nation and its people.

Evolution
Dana, it's very much possible that God created the world as literally told in Genesis, but runs it as if he created it through evolution. Some say that this view claims God to be deceptive. I disagree, because God gave us the ability to understand that he's God and he can do this. -- Tru Cola

No, it does not work
Evolution is a model that overlays observations of current life and past and is integrated with details of the rest of the physical universe. It is a model that continues to change to reflect current knowledge while the underlying form remains consistent. If there is any part of Genesis that could function in the same way, I am not aware of it.

Autograph
I just want to thank you for the autograph from Tupelo, MS. I wish many more years for you. I was also a St. Jude child, they saved my life. I remember staying a month in the hospital. I was very sick back in 1995. I agree with you 100% politicaly. School shootings happen when Jesus is thrown out the door. USA USA USA

The Prison-Industrial Complex
Charlie, for-profit prisons are a threat to at least two of the things that you believe in. The more people are locked away in these facilities, the more money the owners of these prisons make. The owners of these prisons then make campaign donations and send lobbyists to support policies that get more people in prison. Strict gun control can be used to get gun owners in prison. Instead of preventing illegal immigration as much as possible, people can be deliberately allowed to come in illegally, so they can then be locked away (This is probably happening already. Many immigration detention centers are owned and operated by these companies.). -- Tru Cola

Get a new party going
I believe that to get the government people to leave all us country boys alone to work and add value and keep our stuff, the key is to get government people who fully use their constitutional powers against other government people. Power has to take down power. And to get such government people who take down other government people, we need a new party. It needs to be designed like the government under the Constitution, so party power takes down other branches' and levels' party power, and the party's grassroots people stay in charge.
