The polls show that there are still forty some percent of the population of this nation who support Barack Obama. While this is admittedly a much smaller percentage than he enjoyed just a short while ago I find it hard to understand how even this many people can support him. My criticisms of President Obama have nothing to do with race, political parties or partisan politics but stem from fundamental differences in our beliefs and a deep-seated personal conviction that he is leading this nation down the path to abject failure. I have no ill feelings for the people who support Obama, that is their right, but I sometimes wonder if they have really thought this thing out and if they consider the ramifications of his policies on themselves, their children and grandchildren. In the interest of hopefully provoking some thought and introspection on this subject I would like to submit a list of questions to this group of citizens, but if you decide to consider them I must first state some qualifications. 1. Forget which political party and what race you belong to, and just be an American for a few minutes. 2. Forget about the Bush Administration, whatever mistakes you feel he made and whatever problems he may or may not have left for Obama to deal with. He is no longer president and has not been for over eighteen months. 3. Be honest with yourself. If you’re not this will be totally meaningless. Questions: 1. Do you know what is in the Obama healthcare bill and do you have any idea what ramifications it will have on you and your family in the future. 2. Do you believe that Obama has created any meaningful amount of jobs except in the government sector? 3. Do you approve the federal government suing the state of Arizona for trying to protect its citizens by doing the job the federal government refuses to do? 4. Do you believe that the United States of America is the greatest nation on earth? 5. Do you believe that our international border with Mexico should be sealed? 6. Do you believe that Obama can service the massive national debt we owe without taxing every strata of American society and do you believe that you will somehow escape being taxed in one way or another? 7. Do you see any positive results from the corporate bailouts or the stimulus packages? 8. Do you think we should produce our own oil or buy it from our enemies. 9. Do you believe that a president should be able to force his will on the citizens of this nation? 10. Do you have any clue of what is in the cap and trade bill and how it ill impact American business if implemented. 11. Do you think the federal government can do a better job of running the car companies than private business can? 12. Do you believe in global warming? Do you really think that man can control the temperature of a planet Almighty God created? 13. Do you believe that America can continue down the path we’re on without self-destructing? Think about it. That’s all I ask. What do you think? Pray for our troops, and for our country. God Bless America Charlie Daniels
