Power

For there to be civilization, there has to be a central repository of power conferred on a person, or persons, given the authority to make and enforce rules known as laws, and for there to be a democratic civilization, that power has to be conferred by the majority will of the people.

If there is not a centralization of power, there is no democracy and the power is unwillingly conferred on those who have the largest armies or the most guns.

When there are a lot of different factions who have significant armies and a lot of guns, it turns into a warlord or ethnic faction situation resulting in what we see in Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon.

In cases where there is only one faction who has the military power, it results in a dictatorship such as we see in Iran and Venezuela.

Power in the hands of truly good people is a truly good thing and conversely, power in the hand of bad people is a disastrously bad thing.

Even in a democracy, power can be a drug to people who put their interests ahead of the interests of the people who conferred the power on them in the first place.

This type of person tends to attempt to gather even more power under their control.

This grabbing of power is not a new thing. It's been done again and again and it always fails in the end but causes an awful lot of misery until it finally becomes so top heavy it topples to its inevitable destruction, many times taking the unfortunate nation along with it.

Usually big centralized government, operating under the guise of benevolent socialism, is the favorite poison of those who seek to control a country, socialism secreted in through the shadows of the democratic process a small piece at a time until the tentacles are tightly wrapped around the throats of the unsuspecting status quo and they are so entwined in bureaucracy and powerful government agencies that they can hardly breath.

One of their favorite power grabs is nationalizing private businesses, that's happening in this country right now.

Do you think the people of Germany had any idea what they were getting themselves into when they kept granting Adolph Hitler more and more power?

Do you think the people of Russia would have adopted the communist policies of Marx and Lenin if they had any idea that it would bring a monster like Joseph Stalin to power who would cruelly murder millions of their citizens?

Do you think the people of Cuba would have fought and died to help Fidel Castro come to power if they'd known then what they know now?

Political power is it's own self proliferating narcotic, the more you have the more it takes to satisfy the lust until you've taken the last vestige of liberty away from a once free people and it happens so gradually that only a handful of them even know what's going on until it's directly affecting them.

The new homeland security laws we passed to deal with terrorism are a good thing when wielded by good people, but could be used as a tool of unspeakable civil rights violations when in the hands of ruthless people.

I cast no aspersions, but merely bring up some food for thought and careful questioning.

The Obama government and the Congress under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have already commandeered nearly one sixth of the American economy with a health care bill, that to this date, nobody can interpret and really don't know the provisions nor the ramifications of.

Why does the Obama administration need so many czars if not to bypass the input of the democratically elected representatives?

Why did the healthcare legislation have to be put together in back rooms, use taxpayer funded buyouts to unscrupulous Congressmen and Senators, and why did it have to pass so quickly that the public which it will affect was not allowed to even know it's provisions?

Why does the White House try to bribe a Congressman out of running against a Senator they were supporting and call it business as usual?

With the Obama administration, I guess it is.

Why does this Democrat Congress try to pass every socialistic piece of tripe on their agenda before the November elections? Could it be they think it will be a long time before they get to do it again?

I think you all know the answers to those questions.

It all comes down to which people we trust with our vote.

My dear friends, sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong, but I will always speak the truth from my point of view.

The most corrupt, dirty, petulant, inexperienced, idealistic and careless regime America has ever had at the helm is in power in this country.

They are determined to remake America in the image of the failed socialist countries in Europe.

Are we going to let it happen?

What do you think?

Pray for our troops, and for our country.

God Bless America
