Entitlement
Mentality
If you have any doubts what years of unbridled socialism and inept political
administrations can do to a nation, just take a look at what is going
on in Greece now.
There are riots in the streets, and three people died when protestors
set a bank on fire. There is chaos and whether anybody wants to admit
it or not, downright anarchy.
The reason for the trouble is that Greece is flat busted. They have
asked the rest of Europe to bail them out and the lenders, as is their
right, would expect some austere concessions on Greece's part before
they commit billions of dollars and therein lies the trouble.
The sad fact is that even with the bail out billions from the other
nations Greece's problems will not be solved. It only attacks the symptom,
not the disease and doesn't change the fact that until the people of
Greece accept the fact that they need to tighten their belts, bear their
fair share of the pain and get to work, the situation is never going
to be fixed.
The unions and people on entitlements, which is a goodly portion of
the population, don't want to be affected by the austerity measures,
they just want to keep on getting their full piece of the pie because
they think they're entitled to it.
That's the problem with entitlements, so many of the recipients never
stop and think, or maybe never even really know where the money comes
from and don't particular care as long as it just keeps coming.
After a couple of generations, this practice fosters an entitlement
mentality where the entitlement is not viewed as a gift from a benevolent
society to help someone over a rough patch but "my check"
which is viewed as something they is owed to them year after year, and
generation after generation.
This creates a "give me" society with more and more people
being put on the entitlement programs by power mad, vote-seeking politicians
and as more and more people are added and less and less people work
and pay the taxes to support the programs it becomes so top heavy with
people receiving government money and bureaucracies that it falls under
it's own weight.
The old liberal saw," tax increases on the rich" is a fallacy,
as you can only get so much in taxes from the small amount of people
who are left to foot the bill and the whole thing tumbles like the house
of cards that socialism really is.
Socialism kills work ethic and fosters a society of slugs who do as
little as they can, just enough to get by, which stifles growth and
smothers creativity further hurrying the demise of a nation.
Entitlement conundrums are created by shortsighted or non-caring public
servants who are willing to put the whole nation in jeopardy just to
maintain the power they hold, giving in to every union demand, a shorter
work week, more vacation time, more money, more benefits putting more
and more people on the monthly hand out until it becomes unmanageable.
Many times it turns a once prosperous nation into a debtor state, begging
for loans from anybody who is foolish enough to think they're going
to get the money back, with a spoiled population who have been fiscally
pampered by a gutless government. They aren't even willing to take cutbacks,
even to save the nation they are citizens of.
If you want to see America's future just take a look at Greece or even
closer to home California, a state that has indulged in unattainable
entitlement programs until they are having to give debtors I.O.U.s,
and still some of the people are ready to riot at the mere mention of
cut backs.
Face it, America. Whether done in ignorance or intentionally, the Obama
Government and the Democrats in the House and Senate are in the process
of ruining America's economy and losing our place as the leader of the
free world.
If the health care bill, the cap and trade bill, the ridiculous bailouts
and handouts continue it will break the fiscal back of America, we just
simply cannot pay our debts in the years to come.
As Margaret Thatcher said, "The trouble with socialism is that
eventually you run out of other people's money."
As Obama tightens the tax vise, you will see more and more businesses
move out of the country taking the jobs with them.
More and more affluent people who can afford to will relocate their
primary residences in other countries to avoid the confiscatory tax
policies of the Obama Administration.
I marvel at how many people can't or refuse to see what's happening
here. We have an inept, idealistic president and a bunch of eggheads
with no practical experience leading this nation down the path to chaos.
Do you think what happened in Greece can't happen in America? Well my
dear friends, it is well on the way to happening at this moment.
What do you think?
Pray for our troops, and for our country
God Bless America
