What Can We Do?

I want to again express my humble gratitude for you folks who read and respond to this column. Whether you agree or disagree your opinion is gratefully received.

I know there is a lot of frustration about what is going on in America right now. We have a President and Congress that are determined to force their will on the American people, and I have no doubt that it's in their plans in time to bring the Judicial Branch of our government philosophically into line by appointing Supreme Court justices who see things the way they do.

So that's the problem, so what's the answer?

I totally agree with those of you who have advised to pray and vote. Actually those are the two most powerful things we can do. In spite of all the combined power of the Congress, President and Judicial Branch, they don't even amount to a hangnail to our God.

He said if His people who are called by His Name would repent and turn from their sin and pray, He would hear from Heaven and heal their land.

Who are God's people? The Bible plainly tells us that the Jews are God's chosen people, and if you are called Christian, you are called by the name of the Son of God.

So, if you are one of God's people, prayer is the most powerful thing you can do.

The voting booth is the most important place you can be on Election Day. There is nothing elected officials fear more than the wrath of their constituency, so show your wrath on Election Day.

The Bible says there is not a ruler in power that Almighty God didn't put there. So let's face the facts folks, we got Obama because we deserve Obama.

The abortionists of this nation have wantonly murdered over fifty million unborn children. 50,000,000. That's more than the combined population of the top 35 largest towns in the America.

The abortion proponents will tell you that it's a woman's right to choose whether she wants to have a baby or not. In my book, a woman's choice should be made before conception and barring a situation involving the life of the mother the act of abortion is nothing less than sacrificing innocent life on the alter of convenience. America's got blood on its hands.

More and more states are legalizing same-sex marriage, when God meant marriage to be only between a man and a woman.

And to you cherry pickers, please don't send me your indignant emails about it's none of my business who marries who. I'm not trying to make it my business, it's God's business and if you want to know His feelings, crack open the Bible sometime. Old Testament or New Testament, take your argument up with Him.

You can also find out how God feels about marital infidelity, in fact it's easy to find. Just check out the Ten Commandments.

Our television shows are inundated with the profaning of God's name and the ACLU is on a crusade to take every vestige of God and Jesus Christ out of public view.

Living together outside the sanctity of marriage is an openly accepted life style these days.

Politicians lie, businessmen cheat, men make fortunes from selling illegal narcotics and kids murder innocent people just to improve their status in their street gangs.

So, am I pointing a finger?

No I am not. Because the Holy Bible -and I believe every word written in it- says that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that certainly includes me and my sins. Goodness knows I've committed enough of them in my 73 years.

I thank God for His forgiveness.

The Word says, "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land," so the responsibility falls on us, the people of God, the ones who are called by His name to pray for our President and our nation.

And while we're voting and beseeching heaven I think it's also time to raise a little hell.

Too long the people called by God's name have been silent, ridiculed and belittled as being near-sighted sycophants who march meekly off to church once a week and keep their mouths shut for fear of hurting someone's feelings, or failing to turn the other cheek.

When Jesus said to turn the other cheek, I do not believe He was talking about ignoring injustice or ungodliness. Remember what he did to the moneychangers who were defiling the temple of His Father.

And what about the things He said about the Pharisees. He called them what they were, self-righteous hypocrites.

So in my humble opinion, it's time for the good people of this great country to let their opinions be heard, in the voting booth, in conversations, in letters to government officials and newspapers. One letter to a congressman or senator represents many people so your letter could mean a lot, even if they don't listen we'll get to say, I told you so on election day.

It's time to let your voice be heard loud, clear, and often.

Oh some people are going to castigate you for your opinions but fear not, you have the truth on your side and the truth always wins out in the end.

I am not advocating taking up arms but rather a righteous militancy, because the pen is truly mightier than the sword and the truth of God is mightier than the lies of Satan.

Stand up, talk loud, walk tall, don't be intimidated and above all don't shut up. Remember attitude and persistence are everything.

And remember our enemy has most of the mainstream media in his pocket, so don't be influenced by the godless who consider themselves intellectually superior to you, actually they are only the blind leading the blind and eventually they will both fall in the ditch.

Take heart America, it ain't over, it's just getting started.

Sound the battle cry!!!!!

What do you think?

Pray for our troops, and for our country

God Bless America
