Soap Box Archives Back To the Wall Once a man has had a taste of freedom or even knows it exists in another place, his spirit will never rest until he obtains it for himself. You can imprison his body and try to change his mind but his spirit will continue to strive for freedom. I'm afraid that the majority of people in this nation don't really realize what is happening with the current presidential administration and S.O.S.O.B. Congress and Senate. I think most people realize that the maniacal spending of the Obama Administration will result in staggering debt resulting in higher taxes for them and their children. I think that many of them are starting to wake up to the fact that the multi-trillion dollar stimulus and bail out programs Obama has instituted have not and will not work. I think that many of them are catching on that Obama is leading this nation off the charts to the left. I think that many of them are coming to the realization that when Obama says the economy is turning around he has to be talking about the savvy traders in the stock market and the banks and financial institutions he bailed out with money we don't have. Sure they've had a great year, but what about down where the rubber meets the road. Go to Detroit or Las Vegas or California or a hundred other places and tell them the recession is turning around. It may have turned around for the fat cats but it sure ain't got down to street level. It seems the president is more interested in creating billionaires than he is in creating jobs. But what I don't think enough people realize is that the most dangerous thing happening is Washington is systematically taking away their freedom and eroding their rights. We no longer have a House of Representatives, we have a chamber of weak, lily-livered sheep who are lead around by the nose by the likes of Nancy Pelosi who I personally wouldn't let lead my dog outside to relieve himself. With very few exceptions the Senate is not much better. And these people hold the future of you children and grandchildren in their grubby little hands. They lie to us and hide things from us and add their greedy pork earmarks to meaningful bills like military budgets. So they can get the votes to pass them. Out of one side of his mouth Obama says we have to quit spending and out of the other side of his mouth he says we have to have a trillion dollar health care bill that the vast majority of the people in this country don't want. Obama scoffs when somebody says something about death panels, but search your heart folks, do you really believe Obama when he says there will be no death panels? I don't. The veteran's book, "Your Life, Your Choices" now being circulated by the VA encourages vets to question whether or not they are a severe financial or emotional burden to their families, or if they can no longer contribute to their family's well being would seem to be an indication of things to come. Oh I'm sure they won't be called death panels, they'll have a much nobler name, but mark my words, they'll exist and they'll decide who gets the open heart surgery and who gets the pain pills. It's called forced euthanasia and it's a decision that should only be made by Almighty God, not bureaucrats. Of course that won't happen to the president, the Congress and the Senate or their families because they'll be on a different insurance program. Obama rails against the private insurance companies, and they sure could use some shaping up, but even they don't have death panels. Sound a bit like the old Soviet Union? Well guess what? It is. There is nothing benevolent or caring about the proposed health care bill. Harry Reid bribed your Senators with your tax money to force you to accept a health care bill you don't want. This is simply about power, power over you to bend you to the godless will of socialism, and socialism can't exist without an all-powerful central government, what this is becoming is a dictatorship. Why else would a president need so many czars who can circumvent the elected officials -such as they are- to enforce his will on we the people? Welcome to the United Socialist States of Amerika. What's happening in Washington is that your money is going in the front door and your rights are going out the back door. If government takes over health care, they will hold the power of life and death in their hands. Do you think maybe the day will come when you have to be a union member to receive health care? Let's be honest, do you really think that global warming is about anything except money, power and global government? Do you realize that the closer we get to the United Nations and the more we get in bed with the global greens, the more rights we take away from America business just to deal with a non existent problem, the weaker America gets and the more rights the government absorbs. And do you see even an ounce of sanity in trying a Islamic maniac in open court in, of all places, New York City where all America's security secrets will be exposed to our enemies and all hell can, and probably will, break loose? Do you really think America can confront the merciless murderers of Islamic fanaticism with the milksop politically correct platitudes of an incompetent political appointee like Janet Napolitano? Do you really think America will be more secure by closing down Guantanamo Bay and bringing avowed terrorists to American prisons? Do you really think that the situation in Mexico is not going to eventually spill over into the U.S., and do you think Obama would be able to deal with it? Do you not know that regardless of what your income is that you will pay much higher taxes in one form or another as Obama's fiscal birds come home to roost? Do you realize just how much influence people on the far left fringe have on this White House? Do you not realize that Obama is trying to unionize America could the day come when Obama tries to pass a bill to do away with Right to Work states? All the aforementioned things are designed to take away your personal rights and transfer them to the government and they are well on their way to fruition. But you know what? Remember what I said about freedom in the first paragraph of this column, man's spirit will never submit to tyranny. And he's never more dangerous than when his back is to the wall. Do you feel the wall at your back, America? I do. We've got two choices. We either change the course of American politics or kiss the land of the free and the home of the brave goodbye. Oh and by the way, for you cherry pickers. Lest you point your fanatical little finger at me and accuse me of advocating armed insurrection. I am not. What do you think?
