An Open Letter to Immigrants Dear Immigrant, Welcome to the greatest nation the world has ever known, The United States of America, that is if you're here legally. If you're not here legally, go back across whatever border you crossed and try coming back the way you're supposed to, otherwise when you entered this country you are a criminal. To you who have done the honorable thing and taken the time and trouble to become a citizen of this great nation, welcome! We're all in the same boat, with the exception of the Indians who were here when we first came here, we all came from some other country. Now, having said that, let's talk some turkey. I don't know where you came from but evidently it's not as good as the U.S.A. or you wouldn't have taken the trouble to come, so you must think America is a wonderful place. We think so too, and a lot of American blood has been spilled to keep it the way it is. Don't judge this nation by our gonadless politicians in Washington D.C., most people out here in middle America have more guts in their hip pocket than you'll find in the whole of Capitol Hill. Just remember these people will tell you anything to get you to vote for them. I consider most of them to be the enemy and since you've become a citizen, if you care about this country they're your enemy too. In this country, you are free to practice any religion you want to without a problem, unless you're a Christian. If you are, then you'll have a lot of problems mostly because of an outfit you'll probably come to dislike called the ACLU. But if you're not a Christian don't worry about them. They'll never bother you. We have our own laws in this country, some will make sense to you and some won't, but whatever it is, it's the law of the land and if you live here you have to abide by them or face the consequences. We do not believe in mercy killings, jihad or that a woman has to be covered from head to toe to keep some man from being tempted to lust after her, and we do not believe that our women are second-class citizens. We will not live under Sharia Law or anybody else's, and if you want to I would suggest that you go back where you came from and do so. We live under the laws of The United States of America, and those of our state and local governments. We do not believe in trying to kill someone because he criticizes your beliefs or your way of life or your prophet. People use the name of my Savior as a curse word all the time and I don't like it either, but there's nothing I can do about it except pray for their ignorance to be enlightened. We believe in equality in this country, equality of race and equality of the sexes. If you run into a guy named Al Sharpton or a lady named Gloria Steinem, they will call me a liar but you can make up your own mind who you want to believe. We celebrate our independence every Fourth of July commemorating the day we broke ties with King George of England for trying to tax us into the poor house and we're hoping to break ties with the Democrat Party in the near future for doing the same thing, maybe we can designate another holiday to commemorate that. Don't be fooled by the numbers you hear President Obama throwing around, the billions and trillions that fall so easily off his lips, it's all a farce, in reality the money doesn't actually exist, it's all done by the magic of the Treasury Department's printing presses. I believe that we should all respect our heritage but I also believe that we who are blessed enough to be citizens of this nation should be Americans first and whatever else we happen to be after that. I also think it would be wonderful to dispense with the politically correct titles like Native American, African American, Asian American and so forth and just be plain old Americans. I just hope you'll love my country as much as I do. What do you think? Pray for our troops, and for our country God Bless America Charlie Daniels
