Soap Box Archives Collision Course When you look around at what is going on in the world, if you're honest with yourself, unless you're totally blind you have to see that there are only two sides in the War On Terror, the Islamic crazies and everybody else. Now before you cherry pickers get your hot little fingers poised over the keyboard to tell me that Islam is peaceful religion, let me say this. I know that all Muslims are not terrorists, but unfortunately for them, the public face of Islam is that of somebody blowing themselves up in a public place, setting roadside explosive devices to kill military personnel or hacking somebody's head off in front of a video camera. And it seems to me the religion as a whole does precious little to combat this perception. I've heard very few Muslim individuals decry some of the acts of violence but have seen nothing on any kind of a grand scale from followers of Islam anywhere around the world. Although America and Israel are the prime targets of Islamic terrorism, Spain, Germany, England, France, Indonesia and India, just to mention a few, have been victims of their heartless and indiscriminate acts of evil. Europe seems content to take the deadly abuse and try to placate the terrorists, which is just what they want. Our new President has little stomach for confrontation of any kind except with the American public concerning his wild spending and socialistic programs. He has vowed to close Guantanamo Bay and seems intent on gutting our intelligence services and dismantling the safeguards put in place by the Bush Administration that kept America safe for seven years. Sooner or later America is going to find out that the man they elected to the presidency has lowered our defenses and made America and our interests around the world vulnerable. It's hard to believe that a man who has gained the most powerful office in the world, gone to the greatest universities in the land, has at his beck and call the most sophisticated services of our intelligence agencies does not understand that this War On Terror is a fight to the death with only one winner, the western civilizations or radical Islam. Just as there has been -and will be- no lasting peace in Israel brokered by mankind, there will be no peace between the western nations and the terrorists. You can't make a lasting peace with people who hate you so badly they are willing to commit suicide on a grand scale at the whim of mullahs who are nothing more than bloodthirsty warlords who hide behind the cloak of religion and send idealistic young men to fiery deaths. President Obama seems to think that he can negotiate with these maniacs and that is naive beyond reason. Doesn't he know that all he'll get from these people is a lot of empty promises, doesn't he know that lying to an infidel is perfectly permissible in their religion, as long as it advances the goals of Islam. Doesn't he know that no matter what he works out with these people they will not abide by it if the religious leaders, who are the real power, decide not to. One of the things he just doesn't seem to understand is the fact that these people hate us, not as much for what we do, as what we are, a free people who have a constitutional right to worship in any way we see fit. In the world of Islam there is no freedom of choice, it's the teachings of Mohammed or persecution and death I know that Barack Obama is a brilliant, charismatic man but he is also extremely naive in the ways of the world and wears the mantle of arrogance as only a committed, elitist liberal can. I was taught in school that Franklin Delano Roosevelt was not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but that he surrounded himself with smart people who were up to the task of giving realistic advice and come up with pragmatic solutions. Obama has neither experience nor practicality in his administration, he has taken on advisors who, while having impeccable academic credentials, have little in the way of common sense and view the world through the eyes of one who thinks they know what's best for mankind, even if it has never worked in the past and will never work in the future. At the risk of being redundant, I will say again that in my 72 years, as one who deeply loves this nation, believes in and has lived the American dream, who believes in the basic goodness of the common man, I am concerned about the future and the existence of this nation for the first time in my life. Our politicians are giving our nation away, in essence they are prostitutes, who sell the prosperity and security of this nation to anybody who will buy our shrinking treasury bonds or sit down at a negotiating table and fill their ears full of lies, and they do it not for the American people they promised to represent, but for their own power seeking, greedy selves.
The game Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress are playing is dangerous beyond description. He has already put our financial future in dire jeopardy, now it seems he's working on putting our very existence on the line. Not a Christian nation, Barack? Better look again. What do you think? Pray for our troops, and for our country God Bless America Charlie Daniels
