Soap Box Archives Obama and the Good of the Nation (or Lack Thereof) I believe in my heart of hearts that Barack Obama and a gutless, spineless, sellout, power-mad Congress are ruining the United States of America and the extent to which the American people can tolerate will be the extent of the damage. It is already catastrophic. The debt is so staggering as to be incomprehensible and will hand the keys to America's prosperity over to the Chinese and other foreign powers foolish enough to buy our soon to be worthless Treasury Bonds. And "Jivin' Joe" Biden is talking about yet another spending package and claiming that America can spend her way out of potential bankruptcy. Biden's hair transplant must be pulling the energy out of his brain because that's like saying that 2 and 2 equals 5. If his theory was true, when we are in debt all we have to do is borrow more money and everything else will work out. It is a downright stupid statement and miles below anybody who should be Vice President of the United States of America. In seven short months, Obama and his sycophants have managed to put this nation in extreme danger of financial collapse. You can say he inherited this all you want, but it is his handling of the crisis that has been a disaster. The stimulus bill -that was so hastily passed that no member of Congress or taxpayer was able to read its 1,100 pages- was supposed to keep unemployment around 8.1% this year. Now it is quickly heading for double digits, and their excuse is that the administration didn't realize how bad the economy was. Seems like I heard them say something to the effect of "the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression," or did I miss something? He has also weakened the internal defenses to the point of insanity. Our clandestine services responsible for collecting the intelligence to keep America safe from terrorist attack are being decimated for nothing more than liberal politics. If you want to know just how low a politician is willing to go just take a look at Nancy Pelosi, a woman who is so determined to hang on to her Speaker of the House office that she is willing to put the whole nation at peril and the dunces in her party are willing to go along just to cover her treasonous folly. I cannot even articulate the contempt I have for Nancy Pelosi and her ilk, they are like cancers growing on the fabric of our government, flying around in their government planes, taking unnecessary fact finding trips and taking the country down Obama's primrose path to disaster. The healthcare bill that is now in Congress has very little to do with health and everything to do with taking over another huge piece of American industry, absolute socialism, just like the old Soviet Union. Now the White House is delaying the release of the midsummer budget update until the middle of August, after Congress has recessed for the summer. It would appear that the numbers are so bad that Obama is going to want to get all of his pet projects pushed through Congress before the public sees how wrong he was, yet again. And by the way, call your Congressman and ask him or her this question. If the healthcare plan they want to force on us is so good, why won't they be going on it? The truth is they plan on keeping their own lush medical plan for them and their families while they force us on to poor healthcare and even rationing it. Do you want some bureaucrat telling grandma that she's too old to receive the kidney transplant she needs? I dern well don't. Already the banking business, the automobile industry and the financial institutions of this country are under the leash of Obama and his gutless rubber stamp Congress. The majority of the billions that have been allocated to create jobs are not being spent and I predict they will not be spent until 2010, an election year. Everything to do with these people has to do with politics and everything to do with politics has to do with power. America please come out of this deep sleep Obama has induced you into and realize what is happening to America before it is eternally too late and all your freedom and any hope for prosperity has been sucked into the black hole Obama and his Capitol Hill social club have created What's happening in Washington D.C. right now is nothing less than the selling of the greatest nation the world has ever known, and the price is power. First comes the takeover of industry, the taking away of personal and states rights, the incredibly high taxes and then a totalitarian regime emerges; a regime with both houses of Congress in it's pockets and the power to do anything they want to do. That's a horror story I don't even want to contemplate. And remember, as bad as you think it is, it's probably worse. What do you think?
