Soap Box Archives Sleep On Could you imagine that you went to bed one night and while you slept somebody just moved into your spare bedroom and started telling you how you were going to run your household affairs and your family? They would tell you how many children you could have, where they would be educated, how much money you could make, what kind of car you could drive, even down to what you were allowed to say and what you were not allowed to say. You're probably saying, "Well I'd just throw the S.O.B. out," and that's exactly what this column is about, there are some S.O.B.'s who desperately need to be thrown out. America, for the most part, has drifted off to sleep. We're so busy watching American Idol that nobody notices that a 500 lb python has crawled into your living room and is about to swallow life as you know it. Did you ever wonder why some rich and very powerful foundations and organizations, up to and including the United Nations, so rabidly support abortion? Why do they spend their billions on ending life when there is no cure for cancer, no alternative fuel to wean us off Middle Eastern oil and when children die daily from malnutrition in Africa? For the answer to that question we need go no farther than the result, population control, pure and simple and you can bet that if there is a severely deficit population growth they will reverse their stand. Now go figure this one out. Why would the powers that be, be so dedicated to controlling the amount of births in America when untold numbers of illegals flood across our border every year. Could it be that they want to change the demographics of this nation? Watch for the Obama administration so sponsor a huge immigration movement, not to tighten up our borders but to give amnesty to the millions of illegals who are already here. Now just who do you think these grateful pilgrims are going to vote for? When that happens, it will be a Democrat -or should I use the term, "liberal"- world. They will be unbeatable and will have the power to pass anything their cold little hearts desire, up to and including taking over every facet of your life. If you notice, some states didn't want to take money from the government. At least the governors didn't until their respective legislatures forced them to, now why in the world would any cash-strapped state turn down dollar from anywhere. Simple, you get the money at the expense of your state's rights. The same goes for businesses. If you notice, some of the businesses who were offered money and turned it down rather than have the government interfere with the management of their companies, and being told how much they could pay their executives or the kind of products they could or could not make. With every calculated move the Obama administration makes they attempt to make the federal government more powerful, more powerful than commerce, more powerful than the family, more powerful than the people, a monolithic monster that runs the lives of it's citizens in every way. The government can't print money fast enough to keep up with their insane spending rate, and with every paper dollar they print the value goes down around the world. Soon the American dollar, which has always been the world standard of currency, will be replaced with a more stable currency. You may say, "Well, how does inflation affect me?" Inflation affects everybody. Some of you will remember the late seventies and early eighties when inflation was running in double digits and the interest rate was around twenty percent. Inflation makes everything cost more and reduces the value of any money you've saved for your retirement. There will be an all out attempt on the part of the Democrats to legalize gay marriage, to document illegal aliens, to suppress home schooling and private schooling and to take away the legally owned firearms of the American public. It's coming. They want America unarmed, and you can hang your hat on the fact that there is a huge fight coming over the private ownership of firearms and when the coming constituency of illegal aliens, liberals and people who just don't understand or care what's happening materialize, the left will become so powerful they can do anything they want to, up to and including confiscating your guns, by force if necessary. Do you really think that a Congress and Senate which passes bills without even reading them really gives a hoot about you and your family? No, it's power they care about and they're drunk on it. Do you think that after learning the true volatility of the terrorist situation Obama should have been pragmatic and told the American people that now was not the time to close down Guantanamo Bay or to destroy the intelligence infrastructure that has kept us safe for seven years? He doesn't hesitate to tell us that he didn't realize how bad the economy was and has continued to blame it on the Bush administration. Why not play it safe? Why not keep Gitmo open, leave the intelligence infrastructure in place, tell the American people he didn't realize how bad the situation was and blame it on Bush? Is Obama prematurely pulling troops out of Iraq because he truly thinks it's safe to do or is he just keeping a campaign promise to some of his more powerful supporters? Why did he let the interrogation methods of the CIA be exposed to the world at large so that every terrorist can be trained to resist? Why does he allow his administration to change the name of the War on Terror to some benign, meaningless slogan? The White House is still looking for a kinder and gentler name for terrorists and enemy combatants. I've got a name for them. How about "murdering scum"? Do you think that a U.S. President who goes around the world belittling his own country in front of the other world leaders thinks America is a good place, or do you think he believes it's a place that needs to be rebuilt in his image? And what about hate crimes? Will that include preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which vehemently disagrees with a lot of Obama's actions? Will it be criminalized to preach against abortion, against homosexuality or declaring that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life? To sum it all up, what is happening here, and lot more rapidly than you think, is that Obama and a rubber stamp legislature is trying to make the state your Momma and Poppa, your medical administrator, your spiritual advisor and your Big Brother. Every great society that has ever existed has fallen, and the overwhelming amount of them have fallen, not by outside strength, but from inside moral degradation and man's unholy desire for absolute power. It don't work. It never has and it never will. When a people turn their backs on Almighty God, kill the babies He created, sanction things His word teaches against (in other words, calling good evil and evil good), when you put yourself above the God who made you, you are headed for trouble.
