Soap Box Archives Fear and Loathing Personified I know you're all familiar with the recent event when Carrie Prejean, Miss California, a leading contestant in the Miss USA Pageant was tossed a loaded question by some guy who must have been miserable looking at all the beautiful women since he doesn't like women anyway. I don't know why they'd put him on a judge's panel. He asked her what she thought about gay marriage and she answered from a standpoint of personal conviction rather than political correctness. She said that she believed that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. It's obvious that this guy only asked the question to throw a monkey wrench in the proceedings. I would bet a 747 to a mule collar that this guy voted for Barack Obama and President Obama professes to feel the same way about the issue as Carrie Prejean does so what other reason did this little shrimp have for asking? I guess you may notice that I don't mention the guy's name. I know what it is but I think the sooner we all forget it the better off we'll be, because I've seen this guy on TV calling Miss Prejean all kinds of nasty names and he just literally makes me sick. I don't watch enough TV to get the full brunt of the total slime some people are heaping on this young lady but I've seen enough of it to say that if these people are the best denouncers they've got, their movement is in bad trouble. This guy had the timidity to say that Miss Prejean should have given a politically correct answer rather than following the dictates of her conscience and her heart, turning her back on her raising and her God. If this is what the Miss USA Pageant is about, it's a total sham. Should we or should we not know the true beliefs of the young ladies or should they all toe the line to please this disgusting little whiner and his ilk? I dare say that if the young lady had been a Muslim and answered that she was against gay marriage, which most Muslims are, that he wouldn't have opened his foul little mouth. The truth of the matter is that he is scared to death of people like Carrie Prejean because they represent people who think for themselves, in his playbook, that is a truly dangerous thing unless the happen to think like a liberal. Radical liberalism simply cannot stand the light of day or fair debate. It's the same old kill the messenger mentality that has permeated this kind of ideology since it's inception. If you can't present a rational argument just destroy the other person, credibility, reputation and anything else they can get the band of sycophants that was once known as the American media to proclaim, the truth notwithstanding. Remember Bill Clinton? So Carrie Prejean, my hat is off to you for showing people like the ones who tried to destroy you that there are things in life more important than beauty contests. You may not have won the Miss USA crown but there's a crown I'm sure you're much more interested in winning. Go get 'em darlin'. What do you think? Pray for our troops, and for our country God Bless America Charlie Daniels
