And
The Truth Shall Set You Free
I
didn't see the whole thing, but saw some clips of the Democratic debate the other
night and it seems that Barack Obama got a few hardballs tossed at him, and from
what I could tell he struck out on the high hard ones.
I
never expected George Stephanopoulos and Charlie Gibson to ask Obama any truly
hairy questions, and I've got to hand it to them for at least scratching the surface
of the questions Mr. Obama needs to answer if he expects people to trust him enough
to put the future of their children in his hand for four years.
Obama
stumbled on the question of his association with William Ayers, the terrorist,
saying that he was only eight years old when Ayers blew up government buildings.
Well, he may have been eight years old when Ayers and his ilk were practicing
their pitiful acts of anarchy, but how old was he in 2001 when Ayers said that
he didn't regret blowing up government buildings and wished he could have done
more?
Then
he tried to pass the buck to Hillary Clinton saying that her husband, Bill, had
pardoned two Weather Underground anarchists when he was President, which is absolutely
true, but Hillary has enough baggage of her own and the fact that Bill pardoned
these people does not refute the fact that Ayers held a function at his house
for Obama when was running for the legislature in Illinois.
Should
his association with Ayers be overlooked because of something Bill Clinton did?
Two wrongs don't make a right.
And
this thing about using his middle name Hussein
There are those who actually
say that using it is discriminating against him... Heck, America didn't give him
that name, his parents did and if his campaign is so fragile it can't at least
stand the scrutiny of having his middle name revealed he's in serious trouble
if he gets this nomination because every aspect of his life will be gone over
with a fine tooth comb.
And
another thing, Obama says that he would be willing to sit down and talk with the
likes of Ahmadinejhad and Kim Jong-il and all the rest of the world's exporters
of terror, and he doesn't have the guts for a face to face with Sean Hannity or
Bill O'Reilly?
I
listened to Pope Benedict's speech at the White House the other day and felt warmed
when his gentle voice said, "God Bless America." Contrast that with
what Jeremiah Wright said for God to do to America. How could Barrack Obama have
sat in that congregation for over twenty years, hearing this hateful and hurtful,
divisive rhetoric, in essence approving of it by his continued attendance, and
tell us that he wants to unite this country?
When
you sit in a church where his admitted spiritual leader calls America the "U.S.
of KKKA", spews such hatred for the white race, and called for the destruction
of America by God, how in the name of all that's decent can this man claim to
be a uniter?
There
is one thing I know in my heart, I love my church, but if one Sunday I went and
my pastor used the language Wright used or evoked God to destroy America or spoke
in disdain about black people I would walk down the aisle and out of that church,
never to darken its door again.
Electing
a President is serious business, especially in this election with America's sons
and daughters fighting the War on Terror on foreign soil, the economy in flux
and the country seriously divided on so many issues.
In
my opinion the questions should only get tougher on all three candidates. The
people of this nation have a right to know everything about the person who they
give the most important job in the world to.
What
do you think?
Pray
for our troops
God
Bless America
