Politics

It looks as if the Presidential candidates for both major parties will soon be in place and the American people will soon have to decide who is going to lead, not only America, but the free world for the next four years.

John McCain pretty much has the nomination tied up on the Republican side and Hillary and Obama are still slugging it out on the Democrat side, but I'd bet that it will be Hillary, with Obama as Vice President. And no I'm not saying that because I heard somebody else say it, I have felt that way before any of TV's talking heads started saying it.

Obama wants to go ahead and pull the troops out of Iraq, which in my opinion would leave chaos behind and create another despotic Islamic regime, a safe haven for al Qaida and another place for Iran to pursue their intention of destroying Israel, and all the rest of the non-Muslim world for that matter. As I see it, it would be a totally irresponsible and reckless act increasing the danger to our interests abroad and the homeland itself.

Hillary, in my opinion, will not immediately pull the troops out of Iraq, she talks about it but if she's elected, I'd make a wager that she'd start finding excuses not to pull the troops out.

McCain, again in my opinion, would stay with the war in Iraq until we had achieved some kind of victory, more than likely continuing to build the strength of the Iraqis until we can leave a small advisory force in place and turn the security of the country over to the locals.

In my opinion, taking into consideration the corruption, sectarianism and volatility of the region, it would take a lot of years to make that work, but it's the course we seem to have chosen and the one we will probably pursue if McCain is elected.

It seems that one of the most hot button issues in the country has been put on the back burner during the primaries, it seems that none of the leading candidates have seriously addressed the immigration problem.

We do know that Obama is in favor of giving driver's license to illegal aliens.

We don' t really know what Hillary's position would be since she can't seem to make up her mind. I think however her position du jour is that she wouldn't let illegals have driver's license.

McCain has been pretty soft on immigration, considering the Amnesty Bill he supported that almost cost him the primary in his home state of Arizona.

Hillary and Obama want some socialistic form of health care that is bound to be the biggest morass of red tape and damage to the country's budget and the health care industry this nation has ever experienced.

I don't recall McCain saying anything much about health care but I'm sure it will come up in the general election.

Hillary and Obama believe that the economy should be basically predicated on people giving their money to the federal government and the government in turn passing it out in the form of entitlements and cradle to grave social programs.

The problem with socialism is that it doesn't work, never has anywhere it has been tried. You may point at China as an example of where socialism has created a thriving economy. But it was not communism that did it, it was capitalism and besides in the worker's paradise the people who do the work make about as much in a month as an average American worker makes in a day.

They are also told how many children they can have and every other aspect of their lives is controlled by a totalitarian government that allows no deviations from its rigid rules.

If you want to find out about socialistic health care, just get in touch with somebody in Canada and ask them how they like their government controlled health care system. It's a nightmare.

I guess you've noticed that I haven't put Mike Huckabee into the equation. He could very well be the best man in the race but dealing with reality I think we all know that he is not going to get the nomination, which may well be our biggest loss.

It's your choice America and which ever one you make, I would enthusiastically encourage you to let it be known in the voting booth this year.

It's your future, it's your children's future, it's your right and duty as an American.

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?

God Bless America
