Crucial
Times
I
don't remember a time in my seventy-one years when America had as many enemies,
as many internal problems and was divided into so many factions.
There
was a time in this country when we were able to come to a pretty solid consensus
on most of the things that seriously affected us but now it seems that we can't
agree on anything. And even when we do the three branches of government can't
summon up the political courage to work out a solution.
Even
with a problem as devastating as the never-ending flood of illegal immigrants
pouring over our southern borders there are fervent opinions on both sides. The
majority wants rigid enforcement, the rest are split between meaningless enforcement
or no enforcement at all.
We
are involved in what will be an ongoing war on radical Islamics who want to completely
destroy us and our way of life and there are still people who refuse to take the
danger serious and others who blame the whole thing on America.
The
A.C.L.U. and other organized groups want to take every vestige of the Creator
and his Son out of public life, they want on demand abortion, gay marriage and
federal judges who will force their agenda.
They
accuse Christians of trying to legislate morality while they support federal judges
who do exactly that, albeit from the godless point of view.
A
man is running for President whose experience in National and International matters
goes no deeper than two years in the U.S. Senate.
There
is another man running for President who thinks the war on terror is nothing more
than a bumper sticker or a slogan.
There
is a woman running for President who is basically a socialist and they all believe
in higher taxes and big government.
America
can no longer number our enemies and many of our friends have turned out to be
the fair weather variety.
Russia
is coming back on the world military scene with a vengeance. The Arab countries
who claim to be friends of ours are totally untrustworthy and China just sits
back and bides its time becoming a more powerful economic force all the time.
The
price of crude oil continues to spiral out of control, the dollar continues to
fall against other international currencies and still Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi
and company are more interested in convincing the world that the war in Iraq is
lost than doing anything about it.
The
drug problem has all but been forgotten about in the aftermath of the war on terror
but it still wreaks havoc and wrecks lives every day.
Teenaged
pregnancy, teenaged drug abuse and teenaged crime plague America and the streets
of our cities run with the blood of gang violence.
Is
this not depressing, to think of the violent, unprincipled, incohesive, divided
and confused place our beloved United States of America has become?
Is
it terrible, yes?
Is
it hopeless, no?
What
is the answer?
Kneel
down and look up.
Pray
for our troops
What
do you think?
God
Bless America
