Crossroads Part Two

The War on Terror:

I have never been able to understand how some people think there is a
difference in Islamic terrorists, whether they are operating in Iraq,
Afghanistan, Indonesia, Europe, Africa or anywhere else in the world.

They are all bent on destroying western civilization and life as we know it.

Quite simply put: they hate us. They hate our freedom, they hate the way we treat women as equals, they hate our religion, our idealogies, our humanity, our tolerance and our way of life in general.

No matter how much we give into them, how much we acquiesce,
no matter how many concessions we make, they will not stop attacking us until they have destroyed the western world and everything we stand for.

We are not fighting a nationality or race of people. We are not fighting a
country or an army. We are fighting an ideology made up of firebrands and
fanatics who are willing to go to any lengths to defeat us.

If we are to be the victors in this war we are going to have to take off the
gloves. The gloves of political correctness and go at it bare knuckled and
determined.

If, Almighty God forbid, we lose this battle, it will not be because of our
lack of military might or competence. It will be because of reticence,
denial, lack of dedication and attitude.

Our government is going to have to stop the civil war that has been going on in Congress for decades. They've got to start putting the safety of America ahead of blind party loyalty, stop trying to destroy each other and try to destroy terrorism. And I just don¹t know if these people are capable of doing that.

I fear that it's going to take another catastrophic terrorist attack on
American soil to wake up the citizens of this nation to the fact that we
have to use every means at our disposal to defeat these people.

An international terrorist has no right to a lawyer or a civil trial. Yet
there are those who would tell you that these rights are guaranteed them
under the Geneva Convention. All they deserve is a military tribunal and the
carrying out of whatever penalty they are handed down.

These people are not brave freedom fighters or soldiers in the true sense of
the world. They are demented, brainwashed kids who think they are going to gain paradise by destroying innocent human beings. I ask you, what kind of God rewards this kind of perversion?

Does America have the will to fight this war on the terrorist's terms?

We¹re going to find out in the months to come.
