Soap Box Archives Fourth of July Thoughts 07/03/06
This nation was conceived in conflict and dedicated to the new idea that all men were created equal and had a right to be free. And our freedom was hard won and paid for with the blood of patriots who would never live to see the fruits of their sacrifice. Our freedom
has been defended again and again and through the blessings of Almighty
God there has never been an enemy Today America faces an evil and diabolical enemy who will stop at nothing, no matter how cruel or demonic, to force their will and their religion on the rest of the world. And make no mistake about it, they mean business. But we can win that war, its going to take vigilence, sacrifice and dedication but we can beat the terrorists. What really worries me is the war we are losing at home with an out of control media and politically motivated, self-serving politicians who care for nothing except gaining or maintaining power. The New York Times recently printed a story about a secret operation our intelligence services were conducting tracking money being transferred to or by terrorist organizations. It was a tried and true method of tracing money meant to finance terror and by extension attacks on America. Im sure now that the terrorists know about the operation theyll find other ways to move their money. Even as much
as the New York Times hates George Bush and America I cant understand
why they would put themselves and I guess it will never be known how many American servicemens lives will be lost because they printed that article. Money is the lifeblood of al Qaida and the other fanatical Islamic crazies who are killing our young men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. They call it Freedom Of The Press, I call it treason. If anything makes me sick, its the mealy-mouthed politicians who run around the world blasting the nation they are supposed to be serving. They all say, Im against the war, but Im for the troops. No youre not for the troops, youre only for a political party or the furtherance of your own stupid and selfish political ambitions and what youve turned into is a cheering section for the bad guys on the other side of the wire, lobbing mortar rounds at the sons and daughters of America. Recently the Atlanta Journal printed a cartoon comparing American servicemen with al Qaida. How low can you go? I hate to be morbid on this joyous occasion, but America, if we want to continue to celebrate the Fourth of July in the Land Of The Free and the Home Of The Brave wed better wake up to the fact that some of our most deadly enemies are within. Happy Fourth.
Pray for our troops. What do you think? God Bless America Charlie Daniels
