Soap Box Archives Conclusions 05/08/06 The last in the series of articles on our recent trip to Iraq. I have been asked many times what our trip to Iraq was like and have a hard time coming up with an all encompassing adjective to express the way I feel about it. To say I enjoyed it is not exactly accurate because you dont enjoy seeing the cream of American youth risking their lives each day. To say it was fun would not be accurate for the same reason. I think more in terms of honor, admiration and enlightenment. Honor because I cant begin to tell you what a privilege it was to be among these young warriors, these bright eyed and dedicated Americans whose sense of duty and dedication is what keeps America free. I think the admiration is self-explanatory. Enlightenment because I learned so much. The enemy these soldiers are fighting are devious, devilish and not above doing anything. Things like shooting a young Iraqi girl in the leg and throwing her out in the road where our guys would be passing, knowing that the Americans would never leave her there. Of course, as soon as our guys got out of their armored vehicles the ambush took place. I know youve heard about the rape rooms but do you know what they are? Let me tell you, they are rooms built out in a lake with an underground passage being the only way in and the only way out where young boys were taken to wait in horror for whatever monster came for them. You wont hear about it on CNN but on Thursday nights, (the Muslim Sabbath is on Friday so Thursday is like their Saturdays), sex among the prisoners the Americans are holding is rampant and violent necessitating the need for much anal repair on Friday morning. There is much talk about Saddams weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Everybody knows that he had them because he used poison gas on the Kurds. The most prevalent opinion seems to be that the WMD were spirited out of the country and lay hidden somewhere beyond the Syrian border. I spoke with a very high ranking general who said in essence that this war was not just about Iraq, that what we were fighting was al Qaida and that if we did not stop them in Iraq they would surely be coming to America. Some people choose not to believe that, but I do, very strongly. I only wish the American people could wake up to the fact that we are not fighting an army but an ideology. An ideology that teaches that the only way one can be assured of going to paradise is to die in Jihad. There is no shortage of young men and women who are willing to strap explosives on their bodies and walk into a crowd of innocents. And there is no shortage of evil imams and so-called religious leaders who are willing to send them off into eternity with promises of a male dominated heaven with scores of virgins at their beck and call. The one thing I havent been able to figure out is that if these leaders really believe that why they arent all standing in line at the dynamite store to be fitted with a vest. Were fighting pure evil in Iraq, men who would think no more about slitting your daughters throat than they would stepping on a spider. Men who, if they could, would turn the United States of America into cinders. Whats happening in Iraq is only a microcosm of what will be going on all over the planet if we dont seriously cripple their efforts there. We are making headway regardless of what the New York Times screams and CNNs selective journalism would lead you to believe. There is no honor among these people. There is an evil afoot on this earth, a malignant cancer that threatens to take over the Middle East and Southwestern Asia devouring anything akin to freedom and human dignity. There is no tolerance among these people. They will not tolerate anything less than world wide Islam and are willing to go to any lengths to accomplish it. They want sheep, not men who think for themselves. There is no humanity among these people. They could care less about the suffering they cause. They hurt children and treat women like beasts of burden. And even blow each other up because of minor disagreements. Make no mistake about it. Al Qaida is alive and well in Iraq and if not defeated could be coming to a neighborhood near you soon. Trying to win this war through political correct methods is like trying to kill a six-foot rattlesnake with a soda straw and in this case naivety is stupidity. And unfortunately some of our best-known politicians are leading the field in that category. But Ill guarantee you one thing. If we listen to them, were even more naive than they are.
Pray for our troops. What do you think? God Bless America Charlie Daniels
