Crossroads Part Four

The Apostasy

Apostasy--the abandonment or renunciation of a religious or political
belief.

The Bible speaks of a day when there will be a great apostasy or falling
away from the things of God. Look around you and you can see the signs of this happening everywhere.

Many of the nations of Europe have long ascribed to the godless philosophies of Voltaire and the theories of Darwin and other atheists who have risen to prominence through advocating a secular society.

But America, up until the last fifty years, had pretty much stayed the
course and it was reflected in our media, our movies and even our
educational system.

I remember the day in the sixties when I heard on the radio that the Supreme Court had removed prayer from our schools. And in the time since the judicial system has also removed any vestige of moral guidance creating a vast gray area which has resulted in chaos and violence.

Most people say that children should be taught morals and religious values
at home and I agree. But the hours they spend with their peers in the
spiritual vacuum of public school can put a serious dent in their
prospective, while the curriculum teaches something diametrically opposed to what they are taught at home. They are being pulled from both sides.

The falling away is evident from the feverish work of the American Civil
Liberties Union in their attempt to remove any mention of God from public life and turn America into a totally secular society, devoid of compassion and conscience.

Elton John recently made the statement that if he had his way he would do
away with religion and there are a lot of people who will tell you that the
world's problems are being caused by religion.

They lump all religions together, not even stopping to disseminate between
the loving god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the violent god of Islam.

Even some of the old religious denominations have started embracing doctrine that goes against the teachings of the Holy Bible. If you're not going to follow the Bible you don¹t have a church, you simply have a social club and too many supposedly Christian churches have gone in that direction

God does not change and neither does his word. We cannot take it and twist it around the morality du jour. We can't ignore its meaning and prophesies and expect to survive as a free and prosperous society.

The world of movies and television have for a large part become a cesspool
where gratuitous sex is the norm and Almighty God¹s name is taken in vain
with impunity.

Yes America, we are falling away and the further away we get the more
trouble we call down on ourselves.

America the free has become America the apostate.

Pray for our troops.
