Crossroads
Part One
In my opinion the nation that I love with all my heart is facing
some mega
critical issues in the immediate future. The people who make
policy for
America will be charged with making extremely tough and at times
not so
popular decisions.
The day for grandstanding, poll driven politics has long past
and if our
leaders don't take their collective heads out of the sand and
overcome the
tunnel vision of yellow dog partisan politics America could
well be weakened
past the point of surviving as we know it.
I am intentionally posting this after the election so nobody
can accuse me
of political favoritism, of blaming all of America's problems
on one
political party, because that is certainly not the case. In
fact I want to
leave politics and personalities out of this series and talk
about what, in
my opinion, are the all important, crucial problems facing our
nation.
I will be writing a series of articles over the next few weeks
while
addressing these issues and will address one or more of them
in each of my
columns.
The War in Iraq:
Anybody who thinks that whoever is elected is going to suddenly
pull the
troops out of Iraq had best think again. Even the most radical
critic of the
war hopefully has enough gray matter to know that an immediate
withdrawal would allow the entire Persian Gulf to be dominated
by the crazies in Iran. If we pulled out cold turkey the takeover
would happen very quickly. There would be nobody to keep them
out.
Which would mean that Iran would control the flow of oil, decide
production
and allocation and I think that any rational person can see
the castrophic
results of that.
Iran's soon coming nuclear bomb:
The very thought of Iran having a deliverable nuclear warhead
should terrify
every free person on the face of the earth. In fact, it is unthinkable.
But so far all we've done is put this volatile and unacceptable
situation in
the inept, corrupt, impotent, bungling and American hating hands
of the
United Nations which means that exactly nothing will happen,
not next year,
not in the next fifty years and certainly not before the Iranians
are
holding the planet hostage or very possibly firing off a missile
at Israel
and we don't even want to think about the ramifications of that.
Now is the time to act. The Iranians are getting bolder with
each passing
day and thumbing their noses at the western world. The lid to
Pandora's Box is about to spring open. Now is the time for action.
After the bombs start exploding it's way too late.
It¹s time for Washington to stop resembling a kindergarten
and to start
dealing with the danger facing America and the free world.
Pray for our troops
What do you think?
God bless America
