2006 Soap Box Archives Perils 03/03/06 Those of you who know me very well or have read my column for very long know that I’m pretty much of an optimist. I have hope for America and mankind, but my hope is not based on governments or what politicians may or may not do. My hope is based on God and His infallible word, and in my opinion, according to His word we are getting ready to go through some global upheavals like the world has never seen. A major part of these troubles will involve Israel and the Islamic passion to destroy it. Good people have for years tried to craft a process to bring peace between the Islamic and Israel. But it hasn’t worked and it will never work, that is until Jesus Christ comes and sets up His capitol in Jerusalem. Then and only then will true peace come to Israel. Oh, there’ll be the temporary ceasing of hostilities, one of them will last for three and a half years, but lasting peace comes only with the second coming of The Messiah. The truth of the matter is that you can’t have a one-sided peace deal and no matter what Israel does the Islamic will not be happy until there is no Israel, and that’s never going to happen, Israel will be bruised and battered but it will never cease to exist. I know that a lot of you intellectual types who read this column will scoff at the things I’m saying. Well that’s your prerogative but it’s also your foolishness and certainly not because I say it but because God’s word says it. Just look at the exponential unfolding of Islamic aggression in the past few years; the unprovoked attacks on American soil and other places, former allies selling us out to Saddam Hussein, the rapid development of nuclear weapons in Iran and the world sits back and twiddles their thumbs while one of the most dangerous and repressive regimes ever known to man pursues the means to barricade the planet’s prime oil supply and blackmail anybody who tries to interfere; the terrorist attack in Spain and the reticence of their government to do anything about it. It goes on and on and the world is speeding toward a showdown between radical Muslims and the rest of us. It will happen. In fact, it’s happening already. It’s just that so many people just don’t have the savvy or the guts to recognize it for what it is. These people want everybody who doesn’t practice Islam dead. They want total world domination. They want you wearing a turban or a chador and reading the Koran. They want to treat women like cattle. They want you to think, act and speak like them or face having your throat cut in public. I say No! No! Never! I will not turn my back on my country or my God. We’re not helpless, we just have to realize it. Jesus said “Let not your heart be troubled.” Amen. Pray for our troops.
