An Open Letter to Senator Ted Kennedy 02/24/06

Dear Senator Kennedy,

I have taken some pretty hard verbal jabs at you in the past and not without reason, I must say.

But the intent of this letter is with all the respect due the lofty office which you hold. And should you respond favorably to my proposal, I believe it could clear up a lot of misunderstanding and help bring a little bit of harmony to Washington.

What I’m proposing is this, God willing, we are going back to Iraq to entertain the troops again this spring and I would like to extend an invitation to you to accompany us.

You could ride across Iraq in a Blackhawk helicopter and see the poverty of people who live in mud huts with no modern conveniences, and people who still shepard sheep the way they did a thousand years ago.

Then you could tour the opulence and extravagance of the over two hundred palaces Saddam Hussein built while the Iraqi people suffered inhuman atrocities.

You could see the palace where Saddam’s sons had their parties sending goons to the university to pick up young girls who were taken back and raped, leaving them forever disgraced in their society.

But most of all you could talk to the troops, young men and women who are totally confused by the media treatment they get in their own country and just how your vitriolic political tirades and proposals to cut their troop strength could very well be encouraging the enemy and costing American lives.

You see Mr. Kennedy, from some of the asinine things you’ve said, I honestly don’t believe you have a realistic view of what is happening in Iraq and how damaging your politically motivated statements are.

I know you don’t like George Bush and you don’t believe in this war but it’s not George Bush your hurting, it’s the sons and daughters of America and they certainly deserve more out of you than what you’ve been giving them.

You had two brothers who served honorably in the military Senator Kennedy. How would you and your family have felt if someone in the senate had put their lives in jeopardy for purely political reasons?

So, I extend this invitation to you to accompany our band to Iraq and try to have a little better understanding of what’s going on there.

I give you my word that you’d be treated with the utmost respect by everybody in my organization.

Anxiously awaiting a reply.

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?

God Bless America
