An Open Letter To The Armed Forces 12/02/05

Dear Friends,

I am writing this letter to apologize for the behavior of some of the politicians in this country who see you as nothing but political pawns to be used at their personal whims and ambitions.

These gutless so called public servants are not worthy to tie the laces on your desert boots and I only hope that when you enter civilian life you will remember what these people are trying to do to you.

These same people, who are on record speaking about just how dangerous Saddam Hussein was to our country and how he needed to be stopped are now backpedaling and slipping and sliding on their own words, trying to distance themselves from a war they, themselves approved and sent you to.

The situation in Iraq is just as volatile as it was when you went over there and just as dangerous and anybody who thinks we’re fighting anything but genuine terrorists over there needs to have their heads examined.

I have heard the argument made that we had Saddam contained before the war. Contained from what? It certainly didn’t stop him from doing dirty business with the French and Russians, getting billions of dollars in blood money from the food for oil program in the process. And what did he spend that money on? Who knows, certainly not the spineless self-serving panderers in Washington trying to get face time on all the news shows in hopes making some political hay at the expense of our brave men and women at war.

If these people really wanted to do right by you they would recognize the many, many good things you’re doing instead of wallowing in the few bad ones like lazy sows in the mud.

Well let me tell you something. This is one American whose support will not be fading away. I support you, I pray for you and God willing I’m coming back over there next spring to entertain you again

I will make you a prediction. If next week some of our forces would discover evidence of weapons of mass destruction you would see these same people on all the Sunday morning TV shows praising you and the wonderful job you are doing and how they’ve been in your corner all along.

This whole charade is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempts to take control of the White House and both houses of congress and if it happens, God help us. America has done left enough messes in the world in the last half century.

Vietnam could have been won, the first Gulf War could have been concluded and probably have saved us from the one you’re fighting now. Somalia, the USS Cole, the first Trade Tower bombing, and the list of unfinished business go on and on.

If we pull out of Iraq before the job is finished we may as well forget ever being trusted again, and deservedly so. And the bad guys will perceive us for pushovers and the terror will increase.

I believe if we could take the politics and hostile media coverage out of this war for one year, you guys would “get er done” and everybody could come home and vote against these backstabbers.

Pray for our troops.
