Tyrants in Black Robes 11/26/04

Our forebears and the framers of our federal papers set up our government with balances and counterbalances. With three distinctive branches, each meant to act as watchdog and litigator to keep the other two branches from going overboard in one direction or the other.

We have the Executive Branch which consists of the President, the Vice President and all who come directly under their purview including the cabinet and other entities directly answerable to the chief executive of our nation.

There is the Legislative Branch consisting of the House of Representatives, the number representing each state determined by population and two Senators for each state regardless of population.

Then there is the Judicial Branch, the only one which is not elected by the people. It is the Judicial Branch’s job to interpret the Constitution and decide major issues concerning the rights and wellbeing of all Americans.

Although the three branches of government are all powerful concerning affairs of state, it works well until one of them jumps the track. In a democracy, the overriding factor should always be the will of “We The People.” Nothing supersedes that.

When the Legislative Branch becomes overloaded with too many liberals or too many conservatives and they go off on a partisan tangent ignoring the will of their constituents, the problem is easily remedied. We simply vote them out of office and move on.

If the President does not represent the will of the people it takes only four years to straighten it out.

Now the problem is, the Judicial Branch is not elected but is appointed by the sitting President, confirmed by the Senate and in the case of the Supreme Court, this arrangement is for life.

They are basically untouchable and now politicians have discovered that they can get agendas which would never be approved by the people of this nation transferred into law by going through the courts. All they have to do is confirm the right judges and the job is basically done, outside the opinions and the beliefs of the American people.

There have been instances recently where state Supreme Courts and the Supreme Court of the United States have gone against the deeply held convictions of the citizens of this nation.

Our forefathers never meant for this nation to be ruled by a bunch of tyrants in black robes. Our government, above all things, is supposed to be by the people and for the people, not by the courts and for the politicians and their special interests.

Wake up America, wake up to this back door policy of eroding our rights and ignoring our beliefs.

It’s happening now.

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?

God Bless America
