Things 09/08/03

Some of my favorite things are babies, cornbread, honest politicians,
gentle horses, bass fishing,NASCAR, broke in saddles
good cigars, honesty, loyalty and true friendship.

Some of my most unfavorite things are traffic jams, long speeches, mean
dogs, ornery horses, dirty hotel rooms and bumpy roads.

I like campfires, fried catfish, heeling steers, thunderstorms, a big
snowfall and hard rain on a tin roof.

I don’t like crowded golf courses, soap operas, sitcoms and people who
hit from the blue tees when they should be hitting from the red ones.

I like cowboys, puppies, Latigo straps, barbecue and collard greens.

I don’t like liver, doing paper work, losing a big fish, seeing
somebody mistreat an animal, answering machines and arrogant people.

I like football, apple pie, Christmas Eve, shooting sporting clays, old
double barrel shotguns and open faced spinning reels.

I don’t like washing dishes, day old coffee, cuckleburrs, polecats, spiders and houseflies.

I like chocolate cake, eighteen wheelers, train whistles, rodeos and
tractors.

I don’t like high humidity, low down people, cheating, lying and guys
who pick on people smaller than they are.

I hate dissension, fist fights, rats and the copperhead snake that
killed my little dog.

I love colts, calves, pickup trucks, biscuits, snowcapped mountains and
a long stretch of straight highway.

I don’t like income tax, liars, broke fences, dirty stalls and flat
tires.

I like ATV’s, four wheel drives, new cars and old pocket knives.

I don’t like machines that don’t work, stuck up people and broken
fiddle strings.

I like Dale Jr., Sterling Marlin, The Vols, The Titans, The Braves and
The Mount Juliet Bears.

I don’t like being stuck in the mud, hitting my thumb with a hammer, broke finger nails and heartburn.

I like state fairs, fat cattle, sundowns, sunsets, far horizons and
fire works.

And I just love living in these United States of America.
