Iraqi Football 06/20/03

The political football du jour these days is the phrase,”Where are the
weapons of mass destruction?” The question should be,” What has Saddam
Hussein done with his weapons of mass destruction?”

Any person with brain power enough to blink their eyes knows deep down
that Saddam had them and was developing more. We know this because some
people who worked on his WMD projects told us so. So our main concern
should be what has happened to them.

We are still looking and we may just turn up tons of them before this
is over. If not, should we cast aspersions of doubt on the
administration and intelligence services and act as if they were never
there?

We know that some were dumped in the Tigris River, some were probably
burned in the ditches of oil around Baghdad. And it is my personal
opinion that a great deal of them were spirited off to Syria, which
should be of great concern to every person on the planet.

So if we know that the WMDs were in Iraq before the war and would
appear to not be there after the war, did we not accomplish our stated
goal? Did we not rid the world of Saddam Hussein's regime and Iraq of
his WMD?

The reasons for overthrowing Saddam Hussein transcend the finding of
WMDs. A more cruel human being never lived. He treated his people with
such contempt and cruelty that alone would have been reason enough to
go to war.

The war against Iraq was as much a part of the war against terrorism as
our war in Afghanistan.

America needed to show the world that we would defend ourselves against
terrorism, that we were not the timid paper tiger that we were
perceived as during the Clinton Administration.

The politics in that part of the world needed shaking up. There are
too many repressive regimes and if you’ve noticed the defeat of Saddam
Hussein has encouraged a major protest movement among the young people
of Iran who are tired of living under the iron handed Muslim Mullahs .

The hotter we turn up the heat on these scum bag terrorists the better
it is and the temperature just went up several degrees with the fall
of Iraq. If we keep up the pressure they will run out of places to
hide.

Our military people are still being killed on the streets of Baghdad.
Though the bombing and heavy artillery aren’t in evidence anymore, the
battle for Iraq goes on.

We simply must stay the course on this issue. If we leave without
finishing the job it will not only leave the people of Iraq in quandary
but would probably stifle the fledgling struggle for democracy in Iran.

There is much at stake here and it would be really great if the people
in Washington would realize that they should put the cause of freedom
and the safety of the United States of America above partisan politics.

Pray for our troops.
