To America’s Sons And Daughters 12/12/03

To America’s Sons And Daughters Who So Bravely And Honorably Serve Our Nation In Our Time Of Crisis

My words are so feeble and futile in trying to express the gratitude, admiration and respect that I feel in my heart for each and every one of you. Gratitude for protecting our Nation from the evil ones who would like nothing better than seeing our beloved country in ashes. Admiration for what you are and respect for the loyalty and sense of duty which motivates you to stand in the gap between America and her enemies.

A grateful Nation salutes you and supports you and no biased media coverage, no panty waist demonstrations and no slanted words from overly ambitious, self serving, empty headed politicians can change that fact.

Please take it from one who travels this country from coast to coast and border to border that the support for the military is real, solid and nationwide. You won’t see it on the evening news, but take it from one who knows, it’s there.

The people of America realize that it’s not the media but our warriors who keep us free. Yours is a noble cause and yours is an honorable and vital profession.

I know that being away from your loved ones during this Christmas
season must be a heart wrenching experience and it is my fervent prayer that you will all be at home with your families this time next year.

I send you the most heartfelt Christmas greetings from myself, my family and all the good people who work with The Charlie Daniels Band organization.

I firmly believe that we have the greatest fighting forces on Planet Earth and you are all heroes to me. We will never know how many disasters you’ve averted and how many American lives you’ve saved.

I have had the privilege and honor of going among you on many occasions and it gives me comfort to know that our beloved United States of America is being guarded by the best.

So wherever you are in the world the hearts, prayers and hopes of millions of Americans go out to you during this holiday season.

So many of our Christmas greeting cards use the phrase “Peace On Earth,” and after all, that is the ultimate goal, your mission.

May the spirit of the Christ Child abide with you all and may you take comfort in knowing that God is and always will be in charge and that justice will win out in the end.
