2003 Soap Box Archives A Hole In The Boat 10/31/03 America is like a man sitting in the middle of a lake in a boat with a small hole in the bottom. The water keeps slowly seeping in but the man is so intent on his fishing that he pays no attention to it, as the boat slowly fills up with water. Of course when the boat takes on enough water it will sink, but the man keeps right on fishing as it covers his shoe soles and heads for his ankles. Our American boat is filling up with water and we are turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to it. We are so politically correct in this nation that if something isn’t done, it’s going to drown us eventually. We should have learned a lesson from the first bombing of the Trade Towers. Who did it? Muslim extremists! The bombing of our foreign embassies? Muslim extremists! The attack on the U.S.S. Cole? Muslim extremists! The bombing of our marine barracks? Muslim extremists! The 911 tragedy? Muslim extremists! And our President has the gall to stand up and call Islam a peaceful religion. It certainly doesn’t look peaceful to me. What do you think would happen if all these atrocities had been carried out by Baptists, Methodists or Evangelicals? Don’t you think that all the Hollywood elite and the Howard Dean Democrats would be absolutely howling for the hides of “those right wing Christians.” You can bet your bottom dollar that every talk show on television would be inundated with the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy demanding that the government go into the neighborhoods of Middle America and root out these wanton Christian terrorists. They would not care about disrupting neighborhoods, interrupting lives or tarnishing reputations. They would demand that the people responsible be brought forth no matter how harsh the measures would have to be. After all, look at poor Elian Gonzalez who was kidnapped from his family in the middle of the night. Well I’m not advocating kidnapping anybody in the middle of the night or any other time but the point I’m trying to get across is that our boat is sinking and we don’t seem to be very concerned about it. The enemy walks among us, hiding in our very midst. Islamic clergy have openly condoned Jihad at a rally in the shadow of the White House and Muslim clergy have perverted our Armed Forces. And they recruit in the prisons of this nation. Yes America there is a hole in our boat and it’s called political correctness. It has always been silly but now it’s downright dangerous and threatens the very fiber of life as we know it. And we’re not going to find Middle Eastern terrorists in little Italy or Chinatown. If the Muslims in America truly love and believe in this nation they will not complain about the authorities coming into their neighborhoods to investigate. If they really love America they will understand that it’s their way of life also that is being threatened by these scum bags. We have
