2003 Soap Box Archives Christian Soldiers 10/27/03 Over 50 years ago I was sitting in a church when one of the brethren made the statement, ”If we’re going to hang on to God we’re going to have to struggle.” I didn’t think too much of it at the time but the the statement was to be profoundly prophetic . It cannot
be denied and it cannot be ignored, there is at this very I’m quite sure that the A.C.L.U. would deny the fact that that is their intent and that they are involved in this effort up to their toupees but the Bible says to judge someone by their fruits and look at the fruits of the A.C.L.U. which are so well documented that I won’t even go into them. Of course they are not the only ones who want to remove every vestige of God from public life in a nation whose fore bearers were believers and framed our federal papers to reflect it, but the point is this, it’s happening brothers and sisters. And what are we going to do about it? We’ve been called to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are people who will tell you that Jesus was a total pacifist citing his statement to turn the other cheek as an excuse to stay above the fray. And Jesus did say this and we should live by it in our personal lives. But did this same Jesus not speak out against injustice, did he not condemn evil, did he not chase the merchants out of the temple? Well folks, we’ve got worse than merchants in the temple these days, we’ve got lawyers with their anti-God , anti-American, anti-Christian mania and they want to inhibit our rights to spread the gospel and if we don’t stand up and fight them tooth and nail they will win victory after victory until our religious rights are completely eroded away. The big question is, what are we going to do about it? Are we going to sit back and let the People For The American Way set the agenda or are we going to fight back? Speaking for myself, I’m going to fight back. How? I’m going to vote in every election and try to help elect candidates who most closely represent my beliefs. I’m going to let my views be known by whatever means are available to me and I’m going to pray to Almighty God that America will come to her senses and stop this persecution of Christianity. I hope that you will join me in the battle and if you do you may as well expect to be ridiculed and criticized, but in truth, you should feel sorry for the people who pillory you.
