The Silly Tip Of The Iceberg 10/24/03

A few years ago members of the media tried to make Billy Graham look like an anti-Semite because of some long ago, taken out of context telephone conversation with then President Richard Nixon. Of course it didn’t work because anybody with a half ounce of gray matter knows that Billy Graham has spent his life proclaiming the gospel of a Jew, Jesus Christ and loves both Israel and the Jewish people.

The inferences were silly with little regard for the truth.

When Al Sharpton points his finger at a good man and falsely accuses him of being a racist, the world at large seems to take it for a fact. How many innocent good men have been painted with Sharpton’s brush? It’s silly to call a good man a racist for political expediency or any other reason.

When we turn a blind eye to the invasion of illegal immigrants
pouring across our southern borders, it’s silly and dangerous. It will soon reach critical mass and explode in our collective faces.

And when we threaten to do something about it, radical elements of the Hispanic community scream bloody murder. The fact of the matter is that there is a law to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing our borders and not to enforce it is silly.

Since life has to begin at conception, because without conception there would be no life, to call abortion anything else but murder is silly.

When an income tax form is so complicated that it takes an accountant with a bevy of computers to figure it out, when the tax forms could be shortened and simplified so that anybody could do their own tax returns, it’s silly.

When murderers are turned loose because of some minor technicality it’s silly and the laws should be changed.

When the A.C.L.U. and other groups spend millions of dollars to get slabs of stone with the Ten Commandments written on them removed from public places it’s silly.

Why can’t people turn a blind eye to them if they don’t want to see them? If we went along with their way of thinking we should remove every piece of advertising from public view.

After all, an alcoholic may see a sign advertising whiskey and succumb to the temptation, or a fat person may see an advertisement for a high calorie fast food restaurant and add a few more inches to an already protruding girth.

When politicians try to fix the deplorable condition of much of our public education system by simply throwing money at it it’s silly. The money only serves to proliferate the problem. It doesn’t help Johnny learn how to read. Our schools need discipline and order and an atmosphere where students are not intimidated by simply walking to school.

When Jesse Jackson stands on an inner city street corner and
blames all the black community’s problems on the white race
when right around the corner there’s a crack cocaine dealer hawking his wares it’s silly.

There is so much silliness in this nation and we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg. When the rest of the iceberg melts it’s going to flood this country. Count on it.

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?
