Total Hypocrisy 05/02/03

If you’ve been in the proximity of a television set this calendar year
you have to know about the horrible murder of Laci Peterson in
California. She was several months pregnant when she disappeared on
Christmas Eve of last year.

Her body recently floated up close to the body of a fetus which has
been proven by DNA testing to be hers.

Her husband has now been charged with a double homicide, Laci and his
unborn baby.

This has stirred up a storm of controversy because the baby was still
in the womb at the time of the murder. The abortion rights crowd say
that the baby was not a human being because it was unborn and that Mr.
Peterson should only be charged with the murder of his wife but not the
murder of the baby.

This is hypocrisy in its rawest form. First of all the abortion rights
people have based their argument on abortion being the choice of the
woman and that if she decides she doesn’t want to have the baby she has
the right to an abortion.

Well Laci Peterson wanted her baby. In fact, she even had the name of
Connor picked out for him.

Would her choice be served by not charging the murderer, whether
Peterson or someone else, with the death of her baby?

You can’t have it both ways, either it is a matter of choice or it is
not a matter of choice, but of course that doesn’t matter to the people
who support wholesale abortion.

This whole abortion issue is nothing more than the continuing
attempt to say that nobody is personally responsible for their actions
anymore.

If someone is shot to death some people blame the murder not on the
shooter but on the availability of guns.

If you get lung cancer from smoking ,sue the tobacco company even
though the package clearly states that cigarettes may cause cancer.
You have a choice to not smoke, and even though I have little sympathy
for the cigarette companies, they didn’t stick a cigarette in your
mouth and light a match to it. You did that yourself, knowing full
well that you are exposing yourself to the dangers of cancer by doing
so.

A woman does have a choice. It is a choice whether to have sex or not,
whether to use protection or not, in essence whether to take the chance
of becoming pregnant or not.

How can the government protect an eagle egg and not protect an unborn
child?

If life did not begin at the moment of conception it would not be life
at all. There would be no pregnancy and there would be no children
born. Life would cease to be.

It’s ironic that the same people who will get out in the street and
protest a war or tie themselves to a tree to keep it from being
harvested would not even consider protesting to save millions of lives.

We will give Mr. Peterson his rights. No matter how damning the
evidence is, Mr. Peterson will have to be considered innocent until a
jury of his peers decides that he is guilty.

I certainly can’t say that he murdered his wife, but one thing I do
know, if he murdered his wife, then he murdered his unborn baby also.

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?
