War Is Hell 04/04/03

One of the most horrible things that mankind has had to face down
through the centuries is the prospect of having to go to war.

Nobody wants war, especially the men and women who wear the uniforms
and have to do the actual fighting. They don’t join the military
because they want to go to war, they join because they want to serve
their country, in the most honorable way possible, the prospect of
laying down their lives for it.

When I hear statements like the one made by the idiot professor
at Columbia University about wanting to see the U.S.A. defeated in Iraq
it makes me want to throw up.

When I watch the Centcom briefing and hear the asinine questions asked
by the international press corp it makes me wonder why they don’t just
stay at home and listen to the news. Some of which is actually
reported by responsible journalists.

Where are the questions about how many tongues Saddam had cut out
today, how may people he ran through the plastic shredder, how many
human shields were shot in the back, how many children he tortured, how
many women raped?

Why do they only ask questions about civilian casualties and things of
that nature trying to make our forces look like the bad guys?

Why do the networks always run the bad news over and over?

They know full well that Saddam Hussein has killed a thousand times
more of his people on purpose that our troops will ever kill accidentally.

Why don’t they show his atrocities over and over?

Why don’t they admit that all the Middle East terrorists are after the
same thing, whether they are Palestinian, Iraqi or whatever? What
about the four thousand suicide bombers the Palestinians claim to have
sent into the Iraq? Is that not proof enough of collusion?

Why don’t they show us the bombing of the Trade Towers and the Pentagon
to remind us of the inhuman monsters we’re fighting?

Our men and women in the military have their hands full fighting
the evil in Iraq, they shouldn’t have to even give a second thought to
the traitorous professor or a biased media.
That’s our job, John Q. Citizen.

So here goes. I know that a lot of the troops deployed in Iraq have
computers and online capabilities. I want to pass this heartfelt
opinion on to you.

I have heard from thousands of American citizens and we are just as
dismayed as you by the news coverage of this war. Even the polls
reflect the opinions of the American people to be overwhelmingly in
favor of what you are doing over there.

Stay the course, get the job done, and don’t worry about what the
mainstream media says.

You know which channels to watch and which ones to avoid. You know
which newspapers are left wing and which ones are fair.

I hope and pray that you’ll soon be coming home and when you do you’ll
leave behind you a better place.

No amount of spinning or bending of the news can keep the truth from
coming out. No matter what they say about collateral damage or
civilian casualties, you know in your heart that you are actually
saving thousands of innocent lives.

No matter what they say about destruction and suffering you know in
your heart that you are actually alleviating suffering.

And no matter what they say you know in your heart that you went to
Iraq not for oil,not to conquer, but to liberate.

And you know what, all real Americans know it in our hearts too.

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?
