The Big Kid 03/31/03

It seems to me that there are some people in this country who are
ashamed that America is the last and only super power on earth. They
act as if they are ashamed of what America has become and every time we
are forced to flex our muscle they come out of the woodwork to preach
doom and gloom for the future of our nation.

They mistakenly touted the strength of the Republican Guard in the Gulf
War as if they were an unbeatable military force that we would meet our
match in.

Well we all know what happened. We all saw the television pictures of
half starved Iraqi military forces surrendering on their knees to our
troops.

One pitiful batch of Iraqis even surrendered to an Italian television
crew.
Afghanistan will be another Vietnam they said. Look at what happened to
the Russians? There was a vast difference in what Russia was trying to
do in Afghanistan and what we were doing there. Russia went there to
conquer and occupy Afghanistan. We went there to liberate it.

Sometimes it seems that with the exception of a handful of nations the
world at large takes a poke at us every chance they get. What other
motive could France have in their recent behavior in the United Nations
than to bring the U.S.A. down a notch or two.

They could just as easily have said that they opposed the war with Iraq
and abstained from voting on the security council. They didn’t have to
threaten a veto and fly their diplomats around the world in an attempt
to erode our support.

Mark my words. When the terrorist attacks begin in Paris,and they will,
the French will come around screaming like a stuck pig begging for our
help.
And you know what? We will help them. Why? Because we’re the
big kid on the block. We’re the only hope of free nations.

When Chrissie Hynde made her asinine statement about hoping that the
Iraqis defeated us in the war she should have thought about what would
happen to her ADOPTED country if her wish had come true? What would happen
to England without the U.S.A.? Who would help them? The French? The
French are afraid of their own shadow. The only war they ever won was
the French Revolution, and that’s just because they were fighting each
other.

And I think that their other Western European allies have shown their
true colors.

Many brave men and women have died so that America could be a free and
sovereign nation, so that we could stand on our own and protect our own
interests. Not so that we could kowtow to the impotence of the United
Nations or allow a despot like Saddam Hussein to rape, torture and abuse
a whole population of helpless citizens.

America is the big kid on the block and I for one am proud of it.
This is a dangerous world we live in and there are a lot of people in it
who would like nothing better than to reduce the U.S.A. to a pile of
rubble.

Saddam Hussein is one of them and our dedicated troops who fight in Iraq
are serving a dual purpose. To free the people of Iraq and free the
Planet Earth of terrorism.

Fight on brave ones, we’re right behind you.
