In Whose Name 02/14/03

A few days ago there was a full double page ad in the New York Times
placed by a group who call themselves, “Not In Our Name.”

It’s typical, blame America for all the world’s problems type of far
left crap, but this time there was a different dimension. These people
actually had the audacity to compare the Gulf War and our incursion into
Afghanistan to the tragedy of September 11th, accusing the United States
of empire building, aggression and terrorism.

It was signed by the usual bevy of failed liberal politicians, Hollywood
heavyweights and radical left wing kooks. Jesse Jackson’s name appeared
along with Susan Sarandon,you know the type.
The accusations they have made question the U.S.A.’s right to defend
ourselves.

Let’s just paint a scenario. Let’s just say for the sake of argument
that the country adopted the polices this bunch of American haters
advocate.

Scenario One:

Saddam Hussein invades Kuwait and is unopposed by the U.S.A.

Result # 1-Saddam invades Saudi Arabia, Saddam invades Jordan, Saddam
invades the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and every other Middle Eastern
nation who doesn’t have the military power to defend itself.

Result # 2 -Saddam sits on top of the Middle Eastern oil resourses. We
only get twenty per cent of our raw petroleum from the Middle East but
many of our so called allies in Europe are dependent on them.

Result # 3 - World wide recession

Result # 4- Saddam completes his nuclear program and lobs
an atomic war head at Tel Aviv.

Result # 5- Israel who is much further advanced in nuclear weaponry
retaliates, destroying Iraq and rendering much of the Middle Eastern oil
fields uninhabitable for a couple of thousand years and triggering a war
with every Middle Eastern nation left standing.

Result # 6- Loss of hundreds of thousands of lives and world wide
depression.

Scenario Number Two:

Osama Bin Ladin destroys the World Trade Center and bombs the Pentagon
and the United States lodges a complaint with the United Nations but
initiates no military response.

Result # 1-The Taliban becomes stronger, continues to cut the throats
and hang those who commit the slightest indiscretions, continue to treat
women like slaves and beat them in public with sticks.

Result # 2-Osama Bin Ladin becomes a hero in the Middle East declaring
that you can do anything to the United States and they don’t have the
will to retaliate, encouraging other terrorist nations to join him in
the gradual destruction of the United States, which they do.

Result #3-Los Angeles is leveled by a suitcase sized nuclear device,
Chicago’s water supply is poisoned, uncontrollable anthrax and smallpox
attacks in Omaha, Seattle, Atlanta and New Orleans.

Result # 4-Millions of people die, the infrastructure of our nation is
destroyed on a daily basis.

Is that what you people want? I can’t believe you’re that insane. Do I
detect a political agenda creeping into view? Would you have so
readily put your name on this ad if Bill Clinton or Al Gore was in
office? Well let me tell you something bucko, Bill Clinton’s negligence
and weakness allowed a lot of 9-11 to happen. I thank Almighty God that
neither him nor Al Gore are in office. I don’t want this country ruled
by the United Nations which is just what Clinton and Gore would allow to
happen.

You people make me sick. You defend a wanton murderer like Saddam
Hussein, you pity a demented butcher like Osama Bin Ladin and you cast
the most benevolent nation on the face of the earth as a bunch of
murdering criminals. But you don’t seem to mind taking advantage of the
opportunities which the U.S.A. has provided that has made many of you
filthy rich.

I’ve got an idea, since you so despise this country. I feel sure that
the people who love it would be glad to chip in and buy you a country of
your own. You wouldn’t have to have an army, in fact I seriously doubt
if you could find enough people among your military hating ranks to have
one anyway.

Then you could send an ambassador to the United Nations and join France
and Germany in opposing everything we do to defend our way of life.

When the terrorists come and murder your citizens you couldn’t blame it
on the U.S.A., because after all the U.S.A. would not be acting in your
name.
