2002 Soap Box Archives WHEN ARE WE GOING TO WISE UP I have a hard time believing the naivety of many Americans. They just don’t seem to get it. The fact that we are dealing with the most dangerous bunch of cutthroats on the face of the earth, our very existence is in dire jeopardy and by the attitude of some people you’d think we were engaged in a politically correct etiquette contest. They fret about how the Al Quaida prisoners are being treated in Cuba, knowing full well that if these vermin were held in traditional jails they would take the first opportunity they found to murder as many people as whatever they got their hands on would allow. Death evidently means nothing to them, they strap explosives to their bodies and blow themselves up with no regard to how many innocent people they kill. Others worry about these scumbags being tried by a military tribunal. Well let me clue you in - taking them into open court would be absolutely stupid. It would be a good way to get the courthouse destroyed and the jury murdered. They could be tried by a military tribunal where the facility could be protected by as many armed military personnel as it took to insure security. President Bush was roundly criticized for saying what the whole world knows is true but nobody had the guts to say. North Korea, Iran and Iraq are definitely dangerous and volatile nations. Wake up and smell the smoke people, this is not just another war that takes place in some far off country with a funny sounding name. This war is taking place on American soil, and if you think the danger is over you’ve probably purchased the Brooklyn Bridge at some time in your life. The enemy walks among us. There is Muslim clergy in this country who support Jihad. I know because I’ve seen films of them declaring it. Overtime some security person pulls a Middle Eastern person out of line at an airport, certain elements start shouting about racial profiling. What do you think they should do, just let a terrorist walk onto an airplane because some modern day flower child with their head in the clouds is going to call them racists? I fully believe that the majority of the Middle Eastern people in this nation are not terrorists and deplore terrorism as much as the rest of us do. I believe they are good Americans who don’t mind being looked at closely to save lives. I believe that they want to see the terrorists rooted out from among the decent Middle Eastern people. And I’m not talking about some stupid idiot who takes a swing at them just because of the way they look, dress or speak. I’ve seen too much of that in my 65 years. I was raised in the Jim Crow South, and I’m sickened when I think about how my black brothers and sisters were treated all those years ago. We may as well face the fact that before this thing is over, except for a couple of loyal friends, America is going to stand alone. France is already making noises and I look for many of the European countries to pull out soon. Never mind that if is was not for the USA they would all be speaking German now. But America, with the help of Almighty God and her few remaining friends is capable of handling the situation. But it’s time to get tough. Remember this war was brought to us with no regard for innocent people. We have to accept the fact that there will be collateral damage, deplorable as it is, and CNN and the networks and the rest of the somnambulistic do-gooders will scream to high heaven. We’d better take this war seriously, because the enemy is. It is as serious and dangerous as any conflict we’ve ever engaged in. We face an enemy who is ruthless, without morals or humanity and dedicated to our destruction. We have two choices. Fight with everything we’ve got or go under a piece at the time. Political correctness don’t mean a thing when you’re on the wrong side of the grass. What do you think? God
