Uniforms

There are six reasons why the citizens of the United States of America can sleep well at night knowing that they are being protected. The first one is the blessings of Almighty God. The other five are the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Marine Corps and the Coast Guard. It’s high time that the Congress and Senate stop paying lip service to their appreciation of these valiant men and women and put their money where their mouths are. Our military is expected to stay away from their families for extended periods of time, live in conditions that you wouldn’t expose your dog to, risk their lives on a daily basis and do all this for about the same amount of money they could make working the midnight shift at a convenience store. The very nature of their profession is hazardous and their pay and benefits should reflect this. I could never understand why our government is willing to spend billions of dollars on foolish and frivolous projects and fund the swiss bank accounts of Banana Republic dictators, while some of our military families are forced to rely on food stamps. This is not only asinine, it is dangerous. How do we keep attracting the best and the brightest into our armed services when we treat them like a red headed step child. Anyone in uniform should be able to leave their family and go off to war at least knowing that the last paycheck is not going to run out before the next payday. Our military should be given every conceivable piece of equipment it takes to do the job that we’re asking them to do, cost be damned. They’re our sons and our daughters. You wouldn’t send them off to school without pencils and paper. Why should we send them off to war with anything less than the very best? Tom Dashall sits in his office on Capitol Hill talking out of both sides of his mouth about our war effort and some of the media slam the way we’ve conducted the war, I want to pat our military and our President on the back and say you’ve done a great job, much better that Mr. Dashall and his left wing political opportunists or the two martini for lunch media bunch could have done. We need a united front in this country, not long winded wimpy voiced politicians who try to use our troubles to further their ill begotten political careers. I know some of you folks are tired of hearing me harp on the same old thing, but I’m going to keep on doing it. We are facing the most treacherous dangerous and unprincipled enemy we have ever fought. They consider us all their enemies. They would like nothing better than turning the U.S.A. into a flat desert, devoid of people. They have no nation and the world is the battlefield. These people understand and respect nothing but power and have to be dealt with severely. The only thing that stands between us and them is our military. Let’s get behind them America. I’ve been among them many times in many different parts of the world and I’ll tell you they are the cream of American youth. They’re motivated, capable and loyal. Let’s act the same way toward them.
