2002 Soap Box Archives An open letter to our “allies” Lately France,who is supposed to be one of our staunch allies in the struggle against terrorism, has been making noises indicating that they would not join us in a war against Iraq. And they are not the only ones. It seem that a lot of our “so called” allies are losing their stomach to finish the job we’ve started together so successfully. Now France is threatening not to extradite terrorist criminals to the U.S.A. because we have the death penalty. Isn't it amazing how short some people’s memories are. I don’t remember them complaining about the death penalty when it applied to the Nazi monsters who occupied their country so long and committed such atrocities. What’s the difference between Adolph Hitler’s murderers and these murderers? Even England who has been a loyal ally in almost every endeavor we’ve undertaken is having trouble keeping public support for the war against terror. Well I would like to ask a question of our faltering allies. Do you honestly think that if we walk out of this thing now that we have solved the problem? And do you believe that your countries are any less vulnerable to these murderous maniacs than the United States of America? Well just in case you haven’t arrived at the right conclusion, let me fill you in. They hate you too. They hate your freedom. They hate your affluence. They hate you because you don’t worship the same God as they do. They hate you because you look at women as equals. They hate you because you’re educated and just happen to know what’s going on in the world. They just hate you for being you. And their hate surpasses words and attitudes. It translates into sending children out with bombs strapped to their bodies to blow up innocent people. The latest suicide bomber was a ten year old boy. Have you ever stopped to think that of all the Islamic governed countries on planet earth there is not one democracy. That the literacy rate is appallingly low and that instead of trying to do something about the incredibly horrible conditions of their citizens that they are more interested in sending them out to die than they are in educating and feeding them. Do you think that this bunch of idealistic perverts are going to leave you alone just because you refuse to participate in a war against Saddam Hussein or are reticent about the American death penalty? Surely you’re not that naive. This is a war between radical Islam and the rest of the world and the sooner we realize that the sooner we can get on with eradicating our sworn enemies. These people are easily led with promises of virgins in paradise and such nonsense. What kind of god would promise such depraved things and reward such depraved deeds? These are the words of mortal man, not the God I serve. If America has to go it alone with just the help of our real good friends, we will just have to do it. But it would be so much better if some of our allies would pull their collective heads out of the sand and join us in this fight. They will have to sooner or later anyway and the sooner the better.
