2002 Soap Box Archives Suppose We Gave In Well the same old “Save the whales” and “Kill the babies” bunch are at it again. This time they’re protesting the fact that we’re defending ourselves against terrorism. While in my book this is idiocy in the first degree, let’s just suppose that we just brought all the troops home, pulled out of Afghanistan, abandoned Israel, forgot about Saddam Hussein, released all al Qaida/Taliban prisoners and stopped our pursuit of terrorists in this nation. Here’s a likely scenario: You would wake up one morning to find that the Sears Tower had been destroyed during the night, that the Capitol Building had been bombed and the White House had been attacked by suicide bombers. Then a couple of years down the line, if we were still functioning as a nation we could sit back and watch Saddam Hussein start lobbing atomic and biological weapons over into Israel. And shortly after that someone would explode a suitcase sized nuclear bomb in Los Angeles making it uninhabitable for the next ten thousand years. Can you imagine headlines like, ”Thirty million infected with deadly Anthrax”, or,”Nation’s water supply contaminated by deadly virus”,or “Entire wheat crop destroyed by unknown blight”. What kind of people do you think we’re dealing with? Do you think that by placating and giving in to them that they’ll leave us alone? Do you really believe that the Palestinians and the rest of the world would be happy with a chunk of the West Bank? If you do you’re easily fooled. They want nothing less than the complete destruction of Israel. Do you actually think that these terrorists would leave us alone if we pulled our troops out and stopped supporting Israel? If you do, your naivety is beyond articulation. That is not the radical Islamic mandate which will settle for nothing less than an Islamic planet. What do you think of people who will strap explosives on a ten year old boy and send him out to blow himself up just to kill a few Israeli soldiers? Are these the people you’re defending? Would you like to see things go back to the way they were in Afghanistan? How can you be so staunch in your support of “women’s rights” and take up for a regime that treats women like cattle? Do you honestly believe that if we did what you want us to do that you would be safe and sound in your little fantasy world just because you have your misguided ideals? What you are protesting is nothing less than the very survival of the United States of America. Wake up America, it’s not time for business as usual. This thing is not over by a long shot. The only thing that can save this nation is the protection of Almighty God and the eternal vigilance of its people. We are just now experiencing what most of the rest of the world has had to deal with for decades. We are going to have to face up to the fact that we will be engaged in this battle for survival for years, possibly decades. But if that’s the price for freedom, what choice do we have?
