2002 Soap Box Archives Silly, Silly, Silly Could somebody please tell me what kind of sense it makes for the United States of America to do business to the tune of billions of dollars with nations who sponsor the very terrorism which played such havoc with our nation on 9-11? Anybody with enough sense to pour water out of a boot knows that Saudi Arabia is not our friend. Some of the people who crashed those planes into the trade towers were Saudis. Shouldn’t that fact alone tell us something? And why do we do our level best to alert Saddam Hussein that we are going to start bombing him one of these days? If he is developing nuclear capabilities wouldn’t it make sense that every day that we put off attacking him is just one more day that he moves closer to having a weapon of mass destruction. Isn't it time we got the job done? There is no doubt that he’ll do anything he can to stay in power, up to and including killing anyone who opposes him. It’s well past time for him to go. And why do we even have a border between us and Mexico if we’re going to allow anybody to just walk across it any night they so desire. And now some Mexicans are trying to sue the U.S.A. because they didn’t have water to drink while they were making their illegal journey across our supposed border. It’s a sad fact that people died but if they hadn’’t been breaking the law in the first place they wouldn’t have been in harm’s way. And why are we so afraid of offending a few people in a search for the bad guys who want to blow up our country? Do we want to offend a few Moslems or sit back and have another a horrible incident? I say that any Middle Eastern person who is a true and loyal American wouldn’t mind being inconvenienced a little to root out the terrorists who hide among them, racial profiling be damned. Why do people, our President included, keep telling us that Islam is a peaceful religion? There is not one democratic Islamic country, not one. Islam has always been proselytized at the point of a sword. Mohammed himself was a warrior and the Koran even has references to how Jews and Christians are to be treated. Why do we keep spending untold billions of dollars on schools which don’t teach our children how to read? Why must we send them to schools which forbid the very mention of God’s name, just because the A.C.L.U. and a handful of left wing judges say so, when we could have vouchers to spend our own money, and sending our children where they can be safe, educated and practice their faith, each unto their own beliefs, with absolutely nobody being offended or left out. Why does a mother have the right to murder an unborn child when the mother of a living child can’t even make the choice of which school to send it to? And why do we have laws making parents responsible for their children’s actions and then turn around and tell a thirteen year old girl that she doesn’t have to inform her parents that she’s having an abortion. If seventy percent of the crime in this country is caused by illegal narcotics, why isn’t seventy percent of our law enforcement budget spent on eradicating drugs? To me it’s silly, silly, silly.
