Ok
I’ve Had Enough
Enough
nonsense about Saddam Huessein. For you who are saying that
it’
a bad idea to go into Iraq and take Saddam out of power I say
that you
are short sighted and naive.
Now before you get your poison keyboards out and start firing
off your
vitriolic e-mails let me explain why I’m saying that.
Some
of you say that it’s not about taking Saddam out of power
but about
the oil. Just what percentage of oil do you think we get from
Iraq?
From the entire Middle East for that matter? Well it may surprise
you
to know that a fraction of the oil consumed by the U.S.A. comes
from the
Middle East.
Most
of our petroleum comes from Canada, Mexico, South America and
most
recently Russia is starting to export oil.
Our
allies in Europe and Asia are the ones who are all but totally
dependent on oil from the Middle East. If the the Middle Eastern
petroleum exports would suddenly end it would slow America down
but
certainly not stop us. But our European and Asian allies would
be in a
big fat mess and that big fat mess would trigger a deep worldwide
recession.
When I say this I am not defending the oil companies. I think
they use
any excuse to raise the price of gasoline as they did in the
seventies
creating lines at our gas stations and raising the price of
heating oil
causing unnecessary suffering for all America. I have no pity
on the
oil companies.
I have
been accused of blindly following our leaders and I can
straighten that out right now. I don’t blindly follow anybody
except
Jesus Christ. I don’t approve of everything the Republicans,
the
Democrats or the Independents do and it might surprise some
of you to
know that I don’t vote just one side of the ticket. I vote
for the man
or woman who I feel will be best for this nation regardless
of their
party affiliation.
My assessment
of the Iraqi situation has nothing to do with George Bush,
the Congress, the Senate, the United Nations or the YMCA for
that
matter. I have come to these conclusions strictly on my own
after
weighing the facts.
Let’s
weigh some more facts. The major reason we need to take Saddam
out is simply because every day that we wait is another day
he moves
closer to developing some nasty weapons and anybody naive enough
to
believe that he won’t use them should seriously consider
moving into a
rest home.
And
who would he use them on? Who does he hate more than he hates
America? Who is literally in his back yard? Israel of course.
Now
any thinking person knows that Israel has atomic weapons
and any thinking person knows that israel is not going to sit
idly by
and let this madman lob nuclear or biological missiles into
the midst of
their cities. They are going to retaliate in kind and what we
have on
our hands then is a full blown Middle Eastern atomic war and
the Middle
East is a very small place.
By taking
Saddam out with conventional means we could well be averting
a
nuclear war.
Lastly,
the people who suffer worse than anybody else under Saddam are
the citizens of Iraq. They’ve been deprived, lied to and
doused with poison gas by a monster who doesn't even mind putting
his
own family to death. This man is a loose cannon, a danger to
all
mankind and needs to be taken out by whatever means necessary.
Let’s
take him out. The sooner the better.
