Saber Rattling

I have recently heard that the Chinese are making noises again about
annexing Taiwan. This is a very sore point and loss of face for the
Chinese communist government. They claim that Taiwan belongs to the
Chinese mainland and that they should have to live under Chinese rule.

Taiwan was originally called Formosa and the people went there to escape
the bloodthirsty and repressive regime of Mao Tse Tsung. It is a
democracy and quite a thriving little island and that just galls the
communists to no end.

Communism is a non workable form of government, although true communism
has never been tried as the communistic regimes are really totalitarian
governments.

In Russia there were a handful of officials who lived very high on the
hog while the rest of the Russian population lived in near starvation
conditions.
The Politburo and their cronies ate the best food and wore the best
clothes while the rest of the country subsisted on cabbage soup and
black bread and dressed like last year’s scarecrow.

They had a special lane on the main thoroughfares that only they could
drive in while the common people, at least the few who could afford a
car, had to put up with traffic jams and other inconveniences.

Communism was built on control and control by fear. Nobody could trust
anybody else and the mere breath of criticism against the government or
the slightest contact with a foreigner could bring a midnight visit from
the secret police.

The Russians, as a people, are brilliant and resourceful. They had
great engineers and designers but that’s where the quality of work
stopped.

Communism does not reward personal effort nor encourage independent
thought, so the manufacturing process was shoddy at best. It took them
forever to make a workable ball point pen.

If you’re going to make the same wages for slacking as you’re going to
make for working hard why put out the effort. That’s one of the reasons
that the Russians have such a hard time understanding western
standards. They’ve just never had to excel.

The fear factor carried over into every phase of life in communist
Russia. If the factory manager had a quota he didn’t meet it was easier
to file a false report than face the wrath of his superiors who would
have to face the wrath of their superiors and so on.

Russia would never admit that they couldn’t feed themselves and if the
reports filed by the cooperative farms had been true they wouldn’t have
had any trouble at all. But they were not true and not worth the
inferior paper they were printed on. It was a totally unworkable
situation.

The Russians also have very short memories. Who gave them billions of
dollars to assist them in upgrading their infrastructure and get their
economy going? Why the U.S.A. of course. And now that they are getting
their oil production going who do they partner with. Little ol Iran,
who is an enemy of the U.S.A. whether we acknowledge it or not.

North Korea is a prime example of what so called communism does to a
country. They set right above prosperous South Korea separated by
nothing more than an imaginary line and a cruel ideology .

Cuba, which could be the gem of the Caribbean is falling further and
further into disrepair everyday, having to ration food supplies and
other austerity measures. And still, Fidel clings to the decaying
skeleton of communism.

In communist China the question of guns or butter never came up. It was
always guns. The most populace nation on the face of the earth
squanders a goodly portion of their G.N.P. on military hardware at the
expense of their billion or so citizens.

Though they’d never admit it in a million years the powers that be have
found out that communism does not work and there are
many forms of mom and pop capitalism springing up around the country.
Small cafes and farmers who buy their state mandated quota of rice from
someone else and use their own land to plant more profitable crops.

Totalitarianism is an evil form of government. It favors the few who
are in power and imposes its will on people who have little choice but
to obey.

China wants to force the free people of Taiwan to live under this wicked
tyranny. Nothing stands in their way except the most powerful nation
on earth, the U.S.A. Let’s hope we will stand by our commitment to
freedom.

What do you think?
