What is America?

What is America? What does it mean to you? Is the dream still alive?
Do the opportunities still abound? Does our freedom mean as much as it
did two hundred years ago when a rag tag army of farmers and carpenters
armed with muzzle loaders stood against the most powerful military then
known to man and through faith in God and sheer will power came away
victorious?

Does the fact that good men stood barefoot in the snow and spilled their
life’s blood because liberty was such a precious thing mean anything at
all to you?

Do the names Valley Forge, Guadacanal, Chosen Reservoir or
D-day give you a reason for reflection and pride or are they just
obsolete old places and events relegated to a dusty history book in a
forgotten corner of a library somewhere?

Are the names Nathan Hale, Alvin York, Chesty Puller and Audrey Murphy
familiar to you?

Is America still the land of the free and the home of the brave or is it
just a decadent movable party to be enjoyed but not defended, relished
but not revered, destined to go the way of other nations which have
imploded from too many self proclaimed intellectuals, too many burnt out
flower child college professors who hide from the truth in their
incestuous academic world, too many Hollywood stars who think it’s
fashionable to blast any administration which has the guts and the
morality to stand up to them and their unrealistic view of the world.

Will America stand up to her enemies within and without or will America
become the limp wristed, docile, milquetoast non entity that some of our
better heeled citizens think it should be.

Network anchors with seven figure salaries blast the very system which
has so amply rewarded them and actors and actresses have the nerve to
talk about moral clarity, when anyone with a brain in their head knows
that moral clarity barely exists in Hollywood.

Smoothed faced college kids who have never worked a day in their lives
and know nothing of the real world except what they’ve been taught by
left wing ideologues and political opportunists take every chance they
get to pull this country apart at the seams. I just want them to know
that there are still Americans out here who aren’t one bit afraid of
them, and there’s someone who will fight them tooth and nail, someone
who will proudly stand behind our military, someone who will battle them
in the voting booth and in the arena of ideas.

Your unrealistic, idealism and political correctness makes me sick. You
naively pat each other on the back and smile into your perrier and lime
and think what wonderful people we are, we can just make the war go away.

Wake up and smell the chemical weapons kiddies. It’s time to graduate
from play school and enter the grownup world. Let me give you a little
lesson. Mark this down.

1. Appeasement only leads to chaos, without our intervention Saddam
Hussein will develop his weapons of mass destruction and he will use
them.

2. The war against Saddam has just as much to do with the war on terror
as the war against Al Qaida.

3. Unchecked the followers of radical Islam will destroy this and every
other free nation bit by bit.

4. The actions and inactions of your favorite president Bill Clinton
already have and will continue to cause this nation problems, very
possibly very major ones.

5. The UN inspectors will not find anything of any significance and will
sell out the free world by giving Saddam a relatively clean bill of
health.

6. The pressure from France and Germany against America going into Iraq
will be immense. France and Germany will live to regret it.

7. Left to their own devices radical Islamic forces will become more
united and more dangerous.

8. We will end up fighting Saddam Hussein either now with conventional
weapons or later on with nuclear ones.

9. Your fears that going to war with Iraq will increase terrorism will
come to pass whether we go to war with Iraq or not.

10. If you live long enough you will see the folly of your ways.

Do I think I’m wise and know it all? No, I don’t think I’m wise at
all. I’m just using common sense and calling on the experience of
living through many wars.

I have reason to hate war, war is horrible. But not as horrible as what
will happen to this nation if our President listens to you who say that
we should contain evil instead of destroying it. Evil can’t be
contained. It has a way of leaking out of the box.

Saddam Hussein is evil personified, he is cruel beyond belief and
could well plunge the Middle East into nuclear war.

I hope and pray that the leadership of this nation will ignore your well
financed, shrill and hollow cries for appeasement.

It just ain’t going to work. That’s cowboy logic.

What do you think?

God Bless America
