An open letter
to Henry Waxman
Dear Representative Waxman:
Let me get this straight, you want to outlaw fifty caliber rifles, is
that right? Mr. Waxman have you ever even seen a fifty caliber rifle?
They’re just about as rare as hen’s teeth and due to the exorbitant
cost I don’t think you’re going to find many of them in the
hands of street punks. So why the fifty caliber? Why not the twenty
two or the bebe gun or the pocket knife or a rock over two inches in
diameter? How about the sharp stick and the Louisville slugger? All
these things can be used to do bodily harm to human beings. Is your
motivation to save lives Mr. Waxman? If it is, I can tell you how to
save many more lives than outlawing certain fire arms would. Why don’t
you lead the fight to stop the slaughter of unborn children? You say
because they’re unborn that they’re not really people Mr.
Waxman. I’m not going to argue that point with you, I’ll just
let you and your colleagues take it up with God in a court where the
electorate has no say and,”I was just going along with my party”
ain’t gonna cut it. Let’s suppose, just for the sake of argument
that you succeeded in outlawing the fifty caliber rifle. Could you do
a better job of keeping it out of the hands of criminals than you do
with the uzi sub machine gun? You’ve done a pretty sorry job of
that so far Mr. Waxman. And Mr. Waxman do you honestly believe that
prayer has no place in public school and that the ten commandments of
Almighty God has no place in public view? If so, I pity you Mr. Waxman,
I truly pity you and any who think like you do. You see Mr. Waxman by
supporting abortion, opposing school prayer and the public display of
the Ten Commandments you are bringing the nation you are sworn to serve
closer to the brink of disaster. Do you really think that God is going
to continue to allow the slaughter of innocent children and the other
myriad of things we do in this nation which so blatantly defy him? And
Mr. Waxman do you really believe that homosexuality is a natural life
style which should be accepted as an alternative to the man woman relationship?
Or do you go along just because it’s politically expedient and
the chic thing to do? Mr. Waxman it’s become pretty clear to me
that you and many of your anti- gun partners know about about firearms
as a hog knows about an airplane. And just about as much about the nature
of people. You can ban and confiscate every rifle and pistol in this
nation that you can lay your hands on and not do anything but harm,
because you’d never touch the ones owned by the handful of people
who cause all the trouble, you’d only get the ones owned by people
like me who use their guns for protection and sport and have never shot
at anything I didn’t mean to kill and not one of them was a human
being. With all due respect Mr. Waxman, after hearing you take up for
the shenanigans of Bill Clinton I find it hard to believe that anything
you say has any validity except to serve your own purposes. By the way
Mr. Waxman if you and your ilk do decide to come after my guns you might
as well get ready for a long hard fight. You see Mr. Waxman I have a
right to own guns. Even a fifty caliber rifle if I want to. It’s
guaranteed in a little document called The Constitution.
