Child Abuse

I hate violent crime, if you’ve read this column at all you probably know how I feel about rape and murder and how I detest stealing and violence. But of all the crimes which disgust me the one which absolutely incenses me if child abuse. I have heard all the half baked excuses made by defense lawyers about environment, mental disorder and all the other claptrap reasons they use to try to keep these sleezeballs from facing the music. I could believe that extenuating circumstances may have some bearing on a lot of crimes but not when it comes to child abuse. I cannot find a way to believe that anybody could be so depraved or crazy that they don’t know that it’s wrong to hurt a child. Hurting someone innocent and defenseless is just about the lowest down thing anybody can. Let’s call it what it is, not environment or mental disorder but old fashioned evil straight from the pit of hell itself. Anybody who finds something erotic about a three year old girl or boy is not motivated by something from their past but by satan himself. It seems that as time goes by there’s more and more child abuse and it’s a sickening fact that we seem to do less and less about it. And when I say doing something about it I’m not talking about another study group or some over educated fool claiming that this or that monster has an excuse for their despicable behavior. No I’m talking about taking these scum bags off the street. While so many judges are so concerned about the rights of criminals Our children are suffering unspeakable horrors at the hands of depraved maniacs who stalk the innocent with abandon. Can you tell me how a person who has raped, tortured,dismembered and murdered a child has the right to live much less walk the streets among helpless children again? And yet our judicial system continues to turn them back out on the street time after time. If i had my way I would take a branding iron and brand a big C.A. right in the middle of the forehead of everyone who seriously abuses a child. At least that way we’d know who they are. Cruel you say, what about what the pervert does to the child, is that not cruel? No these people are a special breed of degenerate, even hated by the rest of the criminal community. Why do judges keep putting children back in homes where they are abused again and again? Why is the death penalty seldom applied when someone kills a child and why do we put up with this menace? Wake up America. Let’s rid ourselves of these slinking, shadowy animals who ruin lives and families and harm one of God’s most precious possessions. Children can’t protect themselves, they trust us to do it. Don’t you think it’s time we earned that trust by insisting that child abusers be dealt with swiftly, decisively and harshly.
