Take Heart America

If you listen to Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw and their cohorts you’d think that America had been at war for years and that we were losing. The nightly news is a half hour tirade about what our military is doing wrong and that our leadership is doing a terrible job of running the war. They show us pictures of collateral damage which have been orchestrated by the Taliban and act as if we were making war on helpless civilians. They would have us believe that we are engaged in an unwinnable, unjust war. Well if you’ll simply look back at the Gulf War and could pull out some file footage you would find that the same old bunch of Anti-American pundits were telling us what a tough bunch the republican guard was and showing us pictures of collateral damage and talking about how terrible we were for discharging the rare stray missile. Well, we won that war resoundingly and with the help of God, we’ll win this one resoundingly. But let me tell you something. The media ”attitude” toward the war and the way it’s being waged just goes to show you how out of touch they are with the American people. The American people understand what this war is about and our desperate need to win it. Patriotism runs deep in the heartland of America, on her city streets, her highways and byways and in the hearts of her citizens. Had CNN been around during the second world war they would probably have had some Peter Arnett type correspondent following Hitler around and reporting every word of what the ministry of propaganda had to say. Well let me tell you something. I don’t go by polls, I don’t go by what the Taliban shows us and I don’t put a lot of stock in people who do. I know what I’ve seen and heard from traveling across this great nation and it’s totally different from what I’m hearing in the major news media. I don’t know what kind of attitude you panty waist, self proclaimed, elite, condescending bunch of big city television people have, but I can tell you what’s going on in the United states of America. While you’re sitting around nursing your vodka martinis and discussing the inability of our nation to take out the Taliban and destroy Bin Laden, the real folks in this country are proudly sending their sons and daughters off to war because they realize that we’ve just got to win this one. They have faith in their President and his team to wage and win this war. And more importantly many of them have faith in God. Yes, the same God you and your kind want to exclude from the affairs of America. You people need to wake up, take some time off and take a trip across America and find out what’s really going on out here. Not what your polls tell you, but what’s really going on. I’ll extend you an invitation. I’ll gladly show you around. I’ll take you to a timber operation in Oregon and show you some real conservationists. People who have more respect for the forests of America than any of the bunch of kooks who scream about the fate of the spotted owl. I’ll take you to a high school in Tennessee and let you look into the clear eyes of the children that you and your kind deprive of praying to the God they believe in. I’ll arrange for you to see the film of a fetus being aborted and see the pain it suffers and make you know that abortion is nothing less than murder. I’ll take you to a little black church in Gladeville, Tennessee where Brother Spickard and his tiny flock worship God and proclaim their love for white people, Al Sharpeton notwithstanding. I’ll take you to a truck stop where the drivers fuel up, coffee up and fly the American flag on their eighteen wheelers. I’ll take you to a boat landing early on a Saturday morning when the good ole’ boys are putting their bass rigs in the water and they’ll gladly tell you what they think of Bin Laden and what should be done with him and his kind. And lastly, I’ll take you to see some of the families of the six thousand plus innocent people who were murdered by these same scum bags you’re so concerned with, and you can ask them how they feel about collateral damage in Afghanistan. While you reporters follow the Taliban around like a bunch of puppies, while you openly question our President’s handling of the war, while you criticize, theorize, slice and dice, there’s a country out here who is up to the task. Too bad you’re not.

What do you think?
