Mob Rule

The shameful thing that happened in Central Park the other day with thugs groping and tearing women’s clothes off, and the near riot that took place in Los Angeles pretty after the Lakers won the NBA title much sums up the dilemma which our law enforcement officers find themselves these days. Damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Had the mob been made up of Caucasians they could have waded into the middle of it with nightsticks and mace and had the streets cleared in a matter of minutes. However, that was not the case, the rabid band of thugs were mostly minorities so the police had to handle the situation with kid gloves lest Al Sharpton and his brother blowhards come forth and accuse them of racial profiling. Everytime someone says something like what I am getting ready to say, some loudmouthed hack comes out to call them a bigot. Well I am not a bigot, nor am I racially prejudiced so I'll say what I dern well please and let the chips fall where they will. I know my heart. A great disservice is being done to the minorities by the politicians of this country. They literally create the poverty that they claim to care so much about. They supply the resources which promotes laziness and destroys the work ethic, creating eneration after generation of welfare kids who don’t even know who their fathers are. They are raised by mothers who have found out that the more children they have the more money they get and a lot of that money ends up in the pockets of the local drug dealer. They are raised in neighborhoods where violence is a way of life and the sound of gunshots is as commonplace as thunder. For all the lofty talk our politicians make about education they send these kids to schools with unqualified teachers and the classroom is unruly and discipline is just a word. Lacking parental nurturing many of these kids find the companionship they so desperately need is street gangs which puts them at odds with the law. Unfortunately, the rate of crime is much higher in minority neighborhoods and it is an injustice to the hardworking decent folks to allow it to continue because some self serving buffoon like Al Sharpeton brings his bullhorn and proclaims racial prejudice at every serious attempt to enforce the law. If he really wanted to do something for his people he would use his bullhorn and the media which follows him around like a puppy to denounce the drug dealers who prey on the people with a much more devastating effect that the police department. The men and women who enforce our laws are placed in an untenable position. Political correctness and the lack of responsible leadership in the minorities communities have brought about a Mexican standoff. They can’t win. If they do what needs doing they are accused of over reacting and if they stand by and do nothing they are accused of under reacting. In these days of violence and lawlessness it is tough enough being a police officer without being criticized for every move you make. I wonder what’s going to happen when the violence makes it’s way out to where Al Sharpeton lives and he needs the police to protect his life and property.
