Persecution Of Christians

There is a situation which is worldwide and in some cases of epidemic proportions. I am speaking about the persecution of Christians. China, Russia and most of the Islamic countries practice some form of persecution against Christians, ranging from repression to downright genocide. In Lebanon the Christian enclaves have shrunk until there is only a tiny portion of the country where Christians can openly practice their faith. China harbors a rabid hostility for Christians, jailing them and hounding them and making their already meager lives even more miserable. religious tolerance in most Islamic countries is non existent and there have been untold martyrs who refused to turn against Jesus and paid the ultimate price for it. The Sudan openly kills and enslaves Christian men women and children and refuses food to the prisoners they take who will not convert to Islam. And let’s not leave the United States of America out of this. Our supreme court and our government has had a mostly anti - Christian posture for many years, and the A.C.L.U. is on a campaign to have the name of God removed from every official document in this country. They even want God’s name removed from our money. Our president and state department turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to this situation, in fact Madeline Albright has made the statement that the situation in the Sudan is not marketable to the American public. What she’s saying is that we just don’t care enough to do something about it. I absolutely refuse to believe that. While Bill Clinton panders to China and sends troops to Bosnia untold thousands of people are suffering and dying in the Sudan. In fact, more people have been killed there than in Bosnia, Ruanda and all the rest of Clinton’s little wars combined. What is it Mr. President? Is it because their skin is darker? Because the media has paid little attention to it? Or is it because it just doesn’t profit you or your party politically? I would urge all Americans who care about religious freedom to get involved, by writing a letter to Madeline Albright and telling her that you do care that people are being slaughtered and maimed in the Sudan. This is a most deplorable situation and we don’t necessarily have to get involved militarily. Withholding aid and placing sanctions could probably go a long way in alleviating some of the suffering. If that doesn’t work I would be in favor of military action. I am the first person to say that America cannot police the whole world but sometimes we have to stand up for what is right. We in this nation also need to stand up and be heard about what’s going on in this country. There is an element out there who want to deny you the right to voice your opinion and profess your Christian beliefs. I for one will not be intimidated by these pitiful lost souls. I will speak the name of Jesus when and where I please and anybody who doesn’t like it can just stop up their ears.
