2000 Soap Box Archives Encouragement The Bible says that Satan comes disguised as an angel of light. He will try to make things appear differently than what they really are, and I believe that he is very busy in today’s society. He is also cunning and subtle using phrases like “A woman’s right to choose”, and ”Alternate life style”, to mask the fact that abortion is tantamount to murder and homosexuality is condemned in the Bible time after time. Now, before some of you people of a more liberal bent come unglued and start firing off venomous emails to me, which you are certainly welcome to do, let me remind you that it is Almighty God, not me who makes the rules, and if your lifestyle and beliefs don’t coincide with his will then take it up with him. But I'll warn you before you start that you’re not going to change his mind. Just because society has changed doesn’t mean that God has, in fact, he’s never changed and he never will. We use tools like political correctness and social tolerance to go against the will of God. Deep down we know it’s wrong but we don’t want to look like an some medieval nerd out of step with the times, so we go along with the crowd. Well the crowd is wrong. The crowd will not be sitting in the judge’s seat on judgment day. On that day when every knee shall bow and every tongue confess the crowd will be weeping and gnashing their collective teeth. Christians, what I am trying to do here is to encourage you to stand up for the things you believe in and condemn the things you know to be wrong. When someone at work tells racial jokes do you think they’re funny, or do you turn the other way in disgust? When someone teases you about your Christian beliefs do you stand up and defend the name of Jesus or do you cower down and look for a corner to hide in? The United Nations and national media are criticizing Israel for defending herself against the very people who are sworn to destroy her. The Bible says that he who curses Israel, God will curse and he who blesses Israel God will bless. Do you stick up for Israel? I believe that it is imperative for Christians to stand on their beliefs and let their opinions be known. We are the salt of the earth, but only so long as we retain our saltiness. I realized that this is not always easy to do. Criticism stings and remarks hurt, but the truth is the truth and can not be changed by any amount of new age wisdom nor political correctness. God said that Heaven and earth may pass away, but that his word would never pass away. The biggest army, the most powerful bomb, no amount of public opinion nor the strongest leader can change the word of God as much as a trillionth of a centimeter. And so my brothers and sisters in Jesus, take heart.be as gentle as lambs and as wise as serpents. Be vigilant, be strong, be faithful. What do you think? God
