It's Freezing With
Hot Country Music News!

Hudson, WI - It may be -3 degrees Fahrenheit outside right now, however, that is not cooling down this hot country music news. Strictly Country's President, Gina Kay Singerhouse, continues the celebration by announcing the winners of the 13th Annual Spirit Awards.

Fans of country music have officially voted to present the following awards to the following entertainers: Charlie Daniels & The Charlie Daniels Band walk away with Entertainer of the Year, and Performance of the Year, Best of the Best and Living Legend of the Year. Charlie will add these to his previous Spirit Award.

Alison Krauss claims her second Spirit Award as this year's Female Vocalist of the Year. Where as Brad Paisley wins his second consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year and his third Spirit Award. Sugarland earns their third Spirit Award claiming Vocal Group of the Year.

However the big surprise came with the Spirit Award's Song of The Year. The fans overwhelming voted for That's What God Made Rivers For recorded by Daniel Lee Martin on ChinMusic Records and written by Andrea Stolpe.

We had an incredible response this year, stated President of Strictly Country Gina Kay Singerhouse. Country Music fans love to voice their opinion. We give them that opportunity through the Spirit Awards.

This year, marks the thirteenth anniversary of the Spirit Awards. The Spirit Awards began as an opportunity for any country music entertainer to win and give fans the opportunity to voice their opinion. To earn a nomination, each country music entertainer must have performed or made a public appearance within a designated area of the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The awards then give the public the opportunity to vote for their favorite country music entertainer. This year fans were able to choose from sixty-two nominees.
